It was my first time ever seeing Christmas markets in Germany (and Europe) and I loved it.
I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about the Christmas Markets in Cologne and how to make the most of your time in this beautiful city.
Also I have to thank our friends for not only being patient with my constant vlogging but also filming some of the footage that you see in this video 😊

Great video! I’m traveling here in December I have a quistion did you find that a lot of the people at the stalls only spoke German or any English ? I know a good amount of German but I’m just curious 😁

In our experience, hardly anyone spoke English so your German will come in handy! This was at all the markets, even the one near the Cologne church. Have fun!!

How cold is it? Are jeans, sneakers, and a trench coat ok? Or do you think I should wear a puffer jacket?

It was quite cold - you will be outdoors for most of the time too. I would 100% be taking a puffer jacket and if it is forecast to rain (as it was for us) then also bring a waterproof layer too :)

From recollection, I think the Cologne cathedral one is. And the cathedral itself definitely is. But I don’t think the others are.

After watching your video, it felt so clear that I booked my tickets, stay everything, and only then realized that these markets close by the night of the 23rd. I booked my tickets for the 24th and 25th thinking it will be more fun on the day of the festival. This is new to me and at least one small mention somewhere would've helped. Not complaining but since it helps

No no, I'm not complaining. I did watch other videos too infact quite a few just to note and see where to go but it absolutely didn't strike me at all that they are going to be closed and that there is a thing as such. That's what I meant. Again thanks for the video. It is really helpful.

Exactly same happened with me in 2017 Christmas time. I was expecting Christmas will be very colourful but actually after 23rd December everything ia closed and people love to spend time with family , friends in home
