U return on ur own 👍. From no Idea where to go to mostly of what I do is similar to what u did, criss cross town to window shops & malls, cheap buys, to feel the vibe, etc etc, u were surprised by ur own super market haul, that's the 1st or 2nd top priority to do thing for me, to stock up local fruts, botl water, buns, snacks + trips forgotten bits that saves time& saves$ too than corner stores( in West)+ br.fast times & compulsive Fast foods etc(but most Asia street foods v.inexpensive compare to West)

I wanted to spend a lot especially as a percentage goes to the work that Embark does for street dogs. But carrying it was more the issue. Only got a few souvenirs that I couldn’t get in the US. cuuuuuute stuff ! 🐶

I take vows exactly same, but remember breaking 1) in Manila went to KFC to compare JolyBee, yes Kfc PH had steam rice, 2) against my will the adults in my gang went into McDonald's for icecreams, fries (for kids !!) near Spanish steps in, wait.... Yes Rome of all places, but we already tried gelato 2-3 towns incldng Supermarket versions & two of us found Venice street Marinara Pizza👎

United States already had paper straws back on the 50's/60's...way before your time.....people were complaing that there straws were weaking so that's when the plastic straws can out...

I haven't been to Sri Lanka yet. But I plan to visit in three years. I think it is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I just don't like Buddhism. I would like Hindu Sri Lanka more.
