How to use a dynamic brake: Step one: Idle the throttle. Step two: Put dynamic brake in setup position. Step three: Wait 10 seconds for it to start working. (Watch the ammeter.) Step four: Use the throttle for braking. More throttle = more braking. However, the dynamic brake is not suitable for such slow travel on a level grade. Its proper use is on a long downward grade. Use either the independent or automatic brake.

Basically Dynamic breaking takes what makes the train goes, and does that process in reverse

My dear colonel. You're ever so friendly Union Pacific engineer has returned to say that I love your videos. I fell off my couch laughing at this one but the dynamic brake isn't designed to stop the train it's mainly designed to slow it down. Your automatic brake is for the cars and the independent is for the locomotives. They're used in conjunction which one another LOL Also, EOTD stands for End Of Train Device. It allows you to put the train in emergency from the rear as well as from the front to help you stop faster

Dynamic braking is usually used for going down steep grades, or if you're going too fast and need to slow down just by a bit. I'm not too sure but I think dynamics only slow you down to 10 - 15 MPH

From what I understand, those passenger coaches don't actually have that feature. The reason the breaks wouldn't disengage was due to the cutoff valve wasn't set correctly.

Dynamic brakes don't work until you're at speed how Dynamic brakes work is it turns the electric motor into a generator and the locomotive has to be going above 25 miles per hour or faster for there to be enough electrical generation what creates drag or a retarding force diesel electric motors send the electricity to the center fan that locomotive has three fans to on the end that's the radiator one in the middle that's the dynamic grid it's like a modified short like a toaster oven so when there's enough current in electricity when the train is going fast enough the electric motors will send that electricity to the dynamic grid which makes it glow and put out heat in the fan dissipate the electricity is heat ensure an in layman's terms you have to go fast the need the dynamic brake slow speeds use air brake only
