If you think you might be interested in becoming an Airbnb host yourself, you can find out more here: airbnb.vaz6fn.net/LivingBig2 (Disclaimer: We earn a small commission when people we refer start hosting on Airbnb.)
In this weeks video we explore a wonderful colonial cottage style tiny house which has amazingly been built for only NZ$8000 (US $5000). This creative tiny house has been constructed almost entirely out of reclaimed and recycled materials and the end result is a tiny home with some big style!
Keith and Jen are a wonderfully creative couple. Previously, we explored their submarine tiny house which has also been affordably constructed from reclaimed materials. You can see the video tour here: • This Tiny House Is Act...
All throughout, this tiny house has been styled to resemble a turn-of-the-century colonial cottage and is packed full of wonderful historical treasures. This is a great example of what can be done to create a truly affordable tiny house using salvaged materials and a lot of hard work!
Enjoy the full tour of this stunning tiny home.

Let me help put Bryce and Rasa into perspective for all the internationals. Here in Australia and New Zealand, the "Tiny House Movement" is well and truly in it's infancy. Whereas, USA/Canada are far more advanced and laws are being rewritten to validate "Tiny Houses" as a legitimate dwelling. Now, more than ever as the world dips into recession, the Tiny House Movement is should be more legitimate than ever before. People like Bryce and Rasa help push the movement and showcase Aussie and Kiwi's who are ahead of the curve..This channel is more important than most, and deserves all the support in the world. I believe, even if you have no interest in living in a tiny home, the storage ideas for smaller apartments (I live in 452 square feet) are so innovative. Thanks again Bryce and Rasa for another quality video and introducing us to another inspirational human being..

Michael Bourke NZ has been doing this for over 30years very common as many people in NZ had House buses converted into proper tiny homes traveling the country and living wherever they park up they have been doing it for Years. But strict laws have made them become more permanent structures! Awesome to see people become more Mortgage free in there lives!

I, too, feel like you guys have influenced a lot of people in favor of the tiny house movement, because of all of the great, high quality content you put out. I've just moved from a large house to a very much smaller one. Had to sell/give away almost half of my furniture and most of my thousands of books - books went to an edu charity. What made the 'parting' from the belongings easier was the thought, 'I can't take it with me when I cross over.' Not nearly a tiny house yet, but a huge adjustment for me. I've also never missed a video (and binge watched) since discovering this channel. Love the sincerity and shiny spirit of Bryce. Keith and I would get along beautifully. I love to fix things, find out how things work and make a plan. I have many power tools and know how to and do use them! Makes me a rare old lady bird... 😊 PS. I have MG so can't do massive physical labour, hence the power tools.

This is one of the tiniest Tiny Houses I've ever seen. And it's one, that gives me confidence to build my own Mini Tiny House. I wouldn't have guessed that a ceiling that low could actually feel ok. So maybe I can manage to build a loft, if I put in such a low ceiling. So far, I was planning my Tiny House without one. Thank you very much for sharing, Bryce.

I love the way this tiny house is furnished. Little things like the bench below the bookshelf to the little nooks above the steps. So cute and homely.

I absolutely love the way this guy can take recycled materials and make something so beautiful, so warm and so cozy! I was so surprised when you guys opened the door and went into this tiny home. It is beautiful! Love the antiques, the layout, all the books, the views and the peaceful serene feeling of it. Then there is the cost, wow and all hand crafted! Amazing! Thanks Bryce and Rasa for bring this tiny home to us.

Keith is far from the only person you've inspired, Bryce. Finding your channel has completely shifted my goals and desires in life. I just finished college, and honestly this channel has helped me more than anything else in overcoming the uncertainty and apprehension of becoming an adult. It has helped me figure out what I truly care about, and it has shown me how countless others have manifested what they want from life. It's given me a goal, something to work toward that I know will pay off. I've never had something like that before. Thank you so much, Bryce. Can't wait for the next installment!

I believe this is the most beautiful tiny house you have shown on your channel, especially since there is so much history an love for the craft. Both the material and Keith himself tell the story of this house and it just seems that they were made for each other. You can see that this was a passion-project and that it was made with immense pride and that together with the time and love that was put into building it makes it incredible.

It's always interesting to see the thought process and what people use when they build their own tiny homes. Somehow all the reclaimed and recycled materials Keith used came together in a very nice way for this house. It has a lot of character.

That little cabin is absolutely gorgeous. I think it's the most beautiful living room area I've seen any tiny house video - it actually looks like a living room as opposed just a couch along the wall. I think it's because the couch is facing a direction that they usually don't. And that wood throughout is just sublime.

Just wonderful. When Keith referenced his Scottish heritage about being frugal, I get that. I throw nothing away, especially wood scraps, etc.... Of course, my hobby/habit drives the wife nuts. Everything has the possibility of being repurposed. Again, just wonderful.
