I remember the first time I painted a water drop - sorta the same concept. Couldn't believe how real it looked when finished! The card is beautiful and the glass looks so real. Thanks for sharing your immense talent across so many mediums!

I'm looking at my half full glass of white wine on a glass topped coffee table and, using your words, looking at what I see not what I expect to see, and it's really fascinating. I don't know that I have the skills to color that in any medium yet, but I am I much more intrigued by the idea. Thanks for the great video Sandy!

I used to create a painting every year to feature on our Christmas card. That was before I started making handmade cards. One year, I was inspired by the phrase, "Visions of Sugarplums." I don't honestly know what sugarplums look like, but didn't really care for realism in that case. (I did do a google search, but didn't find anything visually appealing.) So I got several small-ish solid wooden "eggs" (or balls--I forget exactly which) at a craft store, wrapped each in colored cellophane like a large candy piece, & placed them under an overturned trifle dish, which I shined a light through. The dish was cut glass, & just to observe & paint the different shapes & colors was interesting, to say the least! Probably didn't look anything like sugarplums when I finished, but so what? :) One of the friends who received a card is the choir director at the church Mama attends. She still talks about that card, and says it is one of her all-time favorites of mine! Anyway, I want to try more coloring of glass now, after watching your video. Definitely pinning your blog post for future reference! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous artwork, Sandy. Take care, stay warm (I'm trying very hard to do that in snow-bound East Texas today! LOL), and have a wonderful day! :)

That was so cool. And you made me laugh out loud. My family is half crazy already... if I started moving glasses around, it would send them completely over the edge :). Thank you so much for sharing.

This is so helpful! I struggle with coloring glass. Watercolor is my favorite medium and I usually stick to what’s comfortable. I need to venture out! Thank you

Oh, I'd love to dive into the glas-topic more, but I feel like I need more hours each day in order to study all your great ideas.... 😄 I guess I'll have to stick to the ones I already began... A class in glas with watercolour would bei great though...😉

Sandy, do you have a lightbox? Instant shiney white surface. Depending on the size of your lightbox, it could be a little small, but should work. :)

Hmm my white one is small, the big one has a grid.

Sandy , I have a question regarding using Polychromos on Bible pages. Can you please check pages in your Bible with Polychromos and see if they are bleeding 🩸 through the pages and possibly transferring to the page behind it. I would like to use my Polychromos in my journaling bible but many say it’s a no no.
@SandyAllnock13 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t remember which pages are which brand. But haven’t noticed problems. I think people get far too fussy and fret over tiny ghosting. 😍
