I would love to see your HLG workflow. Do you use color management or color transform or lut wtc. I shoot with only 8bit sony hlg3

Thanks for the tutorial. I have learned a lot. Suggestion. Your are certainly viewing this in high resolution on your LARGE monitor. But at that definition it is very difficult for some of us who are watching this on 22" monitor to distinguish textual labels on your monitor even if we go full screen on you tube. Just my 2 Cents. Thanks Again.

Sorry! I currently use 4k resolution 😬 all the footage I color is usually in 4k but I should probably go down to at least 2k for the tutorials 😂

When you shoot your fitness videos like this one do you bring lights to the gym or is it available light?
@TheModernFilmmaker5 жыл бұрын
In this shot I did not use extra lighting but in my experience most gyms do not have good enough lighting

Your videos are awesome. I'm new to editing beauty videos and you have explained the most. I've watched 1000 videos on youtube.

Nice tut! I was wondering (from seeing other videos) why you didn’t apply the LUT first and then do the rest? Second question I had, whether working on the log bars would have the same effect as power windowing the highlights and then grading. Cheers!
@TheModernFilmmaker6 жыл бұрын
Thank you!... If you want a LUT to be the primary color style of a shot then it is good to apply the LUT 1st. Most of the time I like to stylize the shot myself and just use a LUT at the end on a very low output to add a little more flare. On your 2nd question, I believe the log wheels effects things in a specific color spectrum. You may notice the log wheels have a much softer effect then the color wheels and the primaries bars.

Check out Avery Peck, he works with log bars as part of his process. He's another great colorist.

Your resolution of the screen is so big i cant read good T_T
@TheModernFilmmaker6 жыл бұрын
Very sorry sir! I try my best to comment on everything I do so that you don't have to actually read my screen. If you have Davinci Resolve pulled up on your own computer you should be able to follow along quite well. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your feedback.

All good. But too blurred

Thats definitely too much midtone detail reduction - doesn't look natural anymore. Also, the skin color and luminance gets rather weird. Might be that 8bit thing... Think it looks better before all of this correction, though.
