So many nodes... so little time. Great job Marcel! I'm 75 and swung over to video about 7 years ago. I'm using a GH5 with my 35 year old Canon FD lenses, vlog, leeming luts and have recently come over from Premiere pro to the free version of Resolve. I love it! Much better than cutting (with scissors) and splicing.

I know it's said all the time, but when I scrolled down to subscribe (early in the video, even), I was genuinely amazed to see only 6K. I legitimately thought you must have 200,000+. I feel like the US just needs to make a legal mandate to subscribe to your channel or somethin'. Also, it inspires an incredible amount of confidence right off the bat to see your talking-head cam be beautifully shot and well-graded. I see sooo many color-correction channels open on a really, really poorly-graded shot of the mentor, which makes me wonder why I'd want to listen to them if they can't do it well themselves. So, props. And you have a new subscriber.

Just to add- The LUT used in this - works well because it is originally designed to be put on a Cineon curve footage - which vlog is based on as well. My guess is Resolve used /Arri Log C as the base for the filmlooks. Agree with pretty much all your workflow here. I think I may have mentioned this before, but labeling your nodes as you go - will help you tremendously if you ever need to go back to an older complicated grade and as a youTuber it helps your viewers follow the workflow better. If you haven't already, use the keyboard preferences to set up a key for color node labels. Mine is set to the "TAB" key. As in other operations it is now part of my muscle memory that when I make a new node that I click the TAB key now and label it. Good tutorial - I find that your teaching method is sound and it feels friendly. That counts for a lot in these youTube video. Nice job.

Watched this one three times now. Can I just say Modern Filmmaker - I think your colour taste and sensitivity is very good. Trying not to put anyone else down, but it's needed really to say this to give the compliment fully: But in this way, these are head and shoulders above most KZbin "professional grading" videos. I think the only other one that gets in the same ballpark as you is someone like Avery Peck. I'm guessing, but it looks to me that your work in colour started as many as ten years ago, because these things can only come with time. (I'm guessing most probably using Photoshop, because you use a "layer" way of thinking of things?) Please keep these up, they are good.

I like your Tut. Most of the others go very fast and the dialogue mainly focused on the screen and the changes. You do a good job of pointing out the buttons and slides in conjunction with the screen adjustments. For people who are trying to learn I can't emphasize the importance of this. Please take time to explain how your doing it, not just what your doing. Some of the teachers explain as quickly as their mind is thinking and for someone trying to digest, it's almost useless. Thanks again for this great Tut. Remember... Slower with more detail will get you more subs.

Glad to help!! By applying before the LUT you have more control of the dynamic range because the luck will some what bake in a certain amount of contrast, exposure and color. Also by putting the LUT at the end it ensures the LUTs attributes will stay as they were intended.
