CT Segment 5 - "I'm liking the stuff up here." 7-26-22 Close encounters of the fur kind requires a little bushwhacking to get back on course. Krusty toddy coming in clutch.

I just started following your AT vids a week ago and I was stoked to see the new CT vids. Everyday I tune in and see more and more subscribers woo-hoo! I'm glad that others have found this gem (YOU SIR) in this corner of the internet.

I really appreciate your viewership and supportive words. This filming and editing process has been rewarded by the slow progress of my channel and finding an audience who enjoys my take on vlogging. Happy to have you here!

Your video brought back some memories of when my wife and I hiked the section from Lost Creek to Kenosha. Very hot and dry

Where did you get your hammock? Brand and model? Please. Looks inviting 😎. Thanks for good video. I hit CO Trail mid July 2024.

ENO Sub 6 hammock. It makes for a comfortable place to rest after a long days walk. Hell yeah! I bet you are super excited. It is going to be an amazing trip!

I'm enjoying watching your CT videos. Did you ever acquire some umbrella hands-free connections? I got the ones from six moons design and they work fine with my silver shadow umbrella connecting to my HMG junction shoulder strap. I met a guy on the AT last year who had hands-free connectors from a different brand and he said that mine were better.

I attempted to use the shock cord wrist strap wrapped in different ways but ended up mostly one handing it. That's why I kept both the hat and umbrella to switch it up depending on the sun angle. I haven't seen those clips you mention in person but the idea is appealing.

Question, I have been experimenting for a possible AT hike. Battery management.... I only get 3 phone charges out of a 10,000 ma battery. Do you shut off your Garmen and phone and only turn them on 2-3 times a day to check in with family?

Great question and I hope to be helpful. 😁 I kept my phone on airplane mode and shut off all notifications from apps to save battery during most of the day. Only turning on the cell service in area noted on Guthooks for having good signal or areas that obviously would (near towns, roads, high points..) I used a Garmin Inreach with the tracking set to 10 minute updates for family to watch back home. Once at camp I shut off the tracking, sent a simple 'Camp" text, and shut it off. I usually could get about 4-5 days from a full charge. I also carried a 13000mah for the extra capacity. Family knew to expect hours/days of no contact. The Garmin provided peace of mind for all.

Do you actually bring a hammock as well as your tent?
@LeftEnright Жыл бұрын
Yup. It's a 10oz luxury that helps with a sore back and legs after long days.
