You should make a resin reject mold. A huge mold that whenever there is extra resin from a pour it just gets poured in there. No matter what you did with the resin. Over time it will be filled and cured and you can demold it in a video to see how it turned out.

I'm surprised you guys haven't tried this before now. I have access to make up for free every once and a while and will grab it to use in epoxy since it can work very well. just have to avoid anything with a water base or anything too liquidy so you don't weaken the epoxy. You can mix in water based colors into epoxy and still have it cure though. It just tends to end up softer than that same epoxy would without it. The more you add the softer it gets

I used eyeshadow and loose face powder for colouring resin - it always cured it MEGA FAST, as in 3x faster than it usually took. Turmeric also makes for a great colorant, it's gives a vibrant red shade.

I love this collab I'm new to this channel but have followed Safiya for years!! The main difference in cosmetic glitter and craft glitter is that cosmetic glitter is made from a non toxic plastic (PET) that doesn't scrach or irritate the eye and craft can contain glass and metal but not all cosmetic glitter is made the same so be safe if you're buying for your face but it should be fine to use any glitter in resin

The elf foundation is actually silicone-based! All foundations have water in them, but if silicone (usually dimethicone) is also high on the ingredient list, then it's considered silicone-based. If it doesn't have silicone listed or if it is very low on the ingredient list, then it can be considered water-based (or oil-based, depending on the formulation). Maybe it didn't negatively impact the resin because of the stabilizers and emulsifiers in the foundation?

IIRC the main difference between cosmetic glitters and resin/craft glitters is cosmetic glitter tends to be more smoothly milled with skin-friendly (less sharp/pokey/slicey) edges? Craft glitter should never be worn on the skin unless you've researched how to do it the right way, since used improperly it can irritate the skin or make tiny micro-cuts when you apply it or wash it off. Also, for similar reasons, "body glitter" shouldn't be used on the face (unless it's advertised as face safe and even then proceed with caution) since that's the thinnest most sensitive skin on your body. Plus ANY sort of glitter getting into your eyes has a chance of leading to nasty infections or permanent eye damage.

I use eyeshadow in resin necklaces and it works better if you mix it with just a little resin first to make sure to get out all the lumps. If it still gets too transparent, I can add some black resin on the back as a second layer after the first one had cured. That works great!
