Keep one tote in the garage for every child with their special things: baby blanket, pictures, ultra sounds, special clothes. My parents did this for us four kids and now I'm 30 and cherish those things!! They do bring back great memories.

I am 63 years old. One of my favorite possessions is a pair of handmade suede moccasins that my grandma made for me when I was an infant. Little tiny baby shoes that I wore 63 years ago. They make me think of how much I loved my grandma. She was the sweetest lady.

Well, most people already do have two hands. Maybe she was trying to say two extra hands or arms. But not every woman is a mom, too. Either by choice or not able to be a mom and they also say they need more hands to clean or work and multi-tasking. My sister has four daughters under the age of 11 to a 2 year old, she needs to be an octopus sometimes! But what does she do? Calls me for extra help, I don’t mind. Lol

Good morning Kim🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m a quilter, you should just keep the a couple of the outfits or blankets that were each of your baby’s “firsts” , and find someone in your area to make you a keepsake quilt of your first sweet memories with each one. When they get older you can show them their first Christmas outfits, or a piece of the blankets you used to cuddle them in. My children are now adults, and they love theirs🥰

So the empty baskets…maybe designate one per child and when you pick up gifts put them in there so they don’t get misplaced or forgotten. I finally had to do that bc every year I’d find a stash of hidden gifts. I even have a family/friend bin.

Every so often, We stored away our kids toys little by little, in the attic, it was just comforting to them to know it was still there. Last week my 18 yr old said “okay mom, I’m ready to donate them”. Seeing you find old baby clothes now you feel ready to let them go. Everyone is ready at their own time. 😊

I put some leftover Christmas treats I forgot to give in a “little free pantry” in my town. I was in the area the next day and noticed they were already gone. If you have those they’re a great spot to put leftover snacks that weren’t a hit with your family. (I also took a bunch of granola bars from Costco my kids didn’t love).

Enjoyed watching this decluttering video and it inspired me to tackle my closet and got rid of 3 big bags of clothes. Feel so good and free now. I can’t believe that lady said “It’s just more work for me” when you wanted to return something. It was still under the 90 days return period. I used to be in sales and customer service and it’s our job to help our customers. Just the principle.

Started the New Year good, went through a bunch of pictures,plus decluttered one bedroom downstairs, did the linen closet down also. Was going to start the next bedroom, and Saturday morning this ol gals back decided it needed a rest🙄Today I’m on day 4 of not doing anything,, oh wait I did manage a shower, didn’t get the feet washed, but squirted my soap on them and used my hand help nozzle! I'm going through every room in my house and decluttering the heck out of it, and it feels sooooo good! So far, I've done my kitchen (that was a big project) and my bedroom, and I'm currently working on my laundry room. Not only am I decluttering, but I'm washing walls, curtains, etc. in each room too. KIM! Do yourself a huge favor and just buy a Pax wardrobe system from Ikea. My husband did my closet in the black/brown Pax system and it's phenominal!! So easy to keep everything nice and organized and it's completely GORGEOUS!

Oh Wow! What are the odds of that? That’s such a pretty name too, I never heard that name before. You chose a pretty name for your daughter! 😊. I use to hate my name, all my little childhood friends had the cutest names that were popular in the early ‘60s, My name is Jeanette, to this day, I can’t find anything with my name on anything. It’s either Jeannette, two n’s, or Janet, sometimes I’ll find a Jennett. My name was popular during the time I was born, I guess. And my parents liked French names, it was cool then! Lol..I did work at a toy store in ‘83 and we had the mini personalized license plates and of course my name wasn’t on there. I told my boss, he was a cool boss and he brought out this long thin cardboard of names and he said look for my name. To my surprise I found my name and I got all happy lol.. he ordered the name Jeanette and he just handed one to me and to our surprise, those “Jeanette” mini license plates were all sold within a month! He added Jeanette to his orders after that! I still have the mini personalized license plate with my name on it. 😁

I have a tote for "gifts". It is full of gifts for all ages and male, female that will fit the people we know, as well as gifts for our co-workers who have babies. Get a tote and throw some of that stuff in it. You may need a "Spring" tote for the candy, toys, etc. for the spring holidays. You are set for Valentines and Easter. Love your videos!

My mom kept my ultrasounds with my birth certificate folder from the hospital. Not really the birth certificate, but they had my baby footprints on it from the hospital with how much i weighed when born. I'm 29 now and was going through my stuff and it was neat seeing all that. I didn't remember seeing them when I was younger. And some day when your kids are adults, you can give those to them and maybe they'll think it's neat to have those too.

Oh I love your new clothes Kim! But boy you're a whirlwind going through all the closets. Love the new bins. Those memories shadow boxes are to put up on the wall in their rooms or a special place in your room or somewhere that'd be special! It's OK to keep some things from each child but not too much, I did & they could care or less. So like I said just a few things, like the shadow boxes I think are neat! I have one with my parents & each of their kids, I have a sister & brother, & I put their 50th anniversary pic that was in the paper! So I love to look at that & think about those memories! ♥️☺️🫂🎉

Hi Kim, In regards to the baby stuff, i.e. lock of hair, first time things, etc., you should set up containers for each child and place them there so you can give it to them when they leave the house. Always nice to show them how little they were. Even a sonogram picture for each child. These are the things they will share when they finally have a significant other and their own children. Great job decluttering but don't want you to regret not keeping things specific to each child to pass down...

Dollar tree has bins that you can put in your drawers like the ones from Ikea. They aren't as sturdy of course but being that they are in the drawers and not being moved around they work perfectly. That should help with keeping the drawers tidy.

Ultrasounds ...... so many possibilities. If you have pictures of the best ones, just toss the rest. If you make Shutterfly books for each of the kids, you could include them, and there you have it. Or you could put them in memory bins for the kids. I HIGHLY suggest a memory bin for every member of the family. Not a huge tote, but a smaller bin that you can put special memories in. And have a tote for family photos. This helps me SO much, because if I'm looking for a baby book, or a sentimental item, I know exactly where to go.
