Colossus was never my favorite, but I always liked his dependability, steadfastness, emotional strength/intelligence, and his determination. He wasn't the strongest hero around, but he was always willing to throw hands, even when he was outmatched. Really a great character, and definitely underutilized

Why does the professor have to be a villain just because he hypothetically could use brainwashing to turn someone into a hero instead of a weapon of war which he likely would have been considering the time period but idk for sure as I'm just a guy who enjoys talking and learning about comics and manga on the internet

This is a debate worth having. But I think your position is an oversimplification. Mutants all want the same thing, to exist in a world where they are not hated, hunted down and having genocide committed against. Establishing the Mutant homeland island of Karkoa as its own mutant only state and forming a fragile truce is just their attempt at doing that. To me its the real life allegory for the establishment of the state of Israel circa 1948 as a Jewish homeland. Many Hebrew sects that don't agree on much of anything united and fought back against their common enemy. (The Arabs) in this fiction the common enemy is humans. kzbin.info
