Im rocking tidewe waders as well. Worked great but had a small leak in the boot. They sent me a new pair.
@mitchweigel67132 жыл бұрын
I'm not gonna say that the best waders I've ever had but for the money they worked well all last season. I was hoping to have a new pair of high and dry breathable waders this season. But I don't know if they're ever going to get any in stock. So hopefully the tidewe will work for the rest of this season.

Don't be afraid to out a few dekes in your lap... stick a big Magnum Mallard Hen a foot from your blind... when you wail on yer call it will be her they focus on.

first part of the morning doesn't tell you how the rest of your day will go. we have had hunts where the first 15 minutes of the morning have been on fire and birds everywhere then after that it goes dead and the other way around, been hunting ducks for 25 years and it happens and if your not at the spot it isn't your spot and to also say you don't really know the area too well to know where else to go also doesn't make it your spot, should know the rest of the area around you incase you do get beat so that you always have a back up spot. also if your not from that area it definitely doesn't make it your spot

what boat/blind you all running there? looks perfect for the Columbia. Love the video.
@mitchweigel67132 жыл бұрын
The boat is Jeremy's ( Good to have him as a friend LOL! ) the blind is a Beavertail brand. I'm not sure if there is a specific model, but the boat is 16 feet with a 60 inch bottom. It fits it really well and seems to work decently. The only complaint is getting in and out of the boat with the blind set up. It would be nice if it had a door. Other than that its been a great setup. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

What choke do you use? And do you shoot 3” or 3.5” shells?
@mitchweigel67132 жыл бұрын
I have been running the factory modified choke in the sxp. I tried a set of Carlson's Cremator chokes, and was not that impressed with them. As far as shells, I would normally shoot a 3 inch 1 1/4 oz. Shot size would depend mostly on what kind of bird I'm targeting. Small ducks I would use # 4,3 and 2. Medium ducks to geese # 2 and bigger shot. But with the ammo issue, I shoot the shells that I can get ahold of. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the question.

@@mitchweigel6713 I use a 12Ga Winchester super SXP with a Delta Carlson midrange choke but tried the LR and hated it but I’m new to diver duck hunting so I could use some tips specially shells/choke wise because most of my divers I’ve bagged this year was with a 12Ga Remington 1100 28” Mod barrel
@mitchweigel67132 жыл бұрын
@@ScatterGun_User Its hard to say what choke to use in your shotgun. Every choke will shoot different in every gun. Even if its the same model. That part you'll just have too experiment with. As far as what shell too shoot for divers. I can't say that I have more luck with any specific brand. I shoot mostly Kent and Federal blue box. As far as the shells go stick with the heavy payload shells. Like 1 1/4 oz in 3 inch or 1 1/2 in 3 1/2 inch shells. and use bigger shot like BB on those divers. they are tough! Good luck! Hopefully your hunting has been going better than mine.

Yall ever hunt public walk in marshes? Up in Moses lake is where I am
@mitchweigel67132 жыл бұрын
We just hunted a walk in last weekend in eastern Oregon. Most of Oregon's public marsh are regulated by lottery draws. So it can be difficult to get a spot sometimes. Moses Lake is one of those places I hope to make it to someday. Thanks for watching.
