I only realised after I fit a combi for a client who was under 5ft tall. I never made that mistake again

Thanks great videos - so useful to know what questions to ask. To help with height issue with the combi oven does it make sense to put the smaller oven under the larger one. The larger one with the bigger door means the door will open at a lower height.

Yes you would think that is a good solution. But, if you set the main oven at a useable height the control panel of the combi is very low. As these are usually touch control you have to bend down to see what you are pressing. We’ve tried it and it wasn’t successful. Sorry.

Why not put the combi oven below the main oven?

You can do that but I find heights and access a problem. 600mm high oven, 450mm high combi. If you set the oven at the right height then the controls on the combi are too low and difficult to use. I might do a video better explaining this

Why does moving the thin drawer to above the ovens mean it can't be a drawer? (you said it means a loss of storage space)

Hi. Usually you can’t have. Drawer above the oven as it too high to see into it. If, though , you are having a custom made kitchen then the top cupboard will be made bigger so no space is lost Thanks for the comment

The arm length thing is sooo tedious, only cos more than 1 person will b using it n when parties etc are to be had everyone will b using the combo oven. Is there an alternative? Perhaps the designer of these ovens can create a door that opens then half slides down once u push it. Makes sense lol. Thanks ur awesome🌞

Hi, I would like to double check to be sure but I have always been told that I shouldn’t design a combi under an oven. Something to do with the oven needing to draw cool air in and the hot air from combi could damage it. That was the advice from a couple of years ago. Could be worth checking with the manufacturers before you consider doing this.

Hi, i’, going off old knowledge but I once fitted a combi underneath an oven and we had a problem with the oven , the service guy said it was because the heat from the combi vent was damaging the oven above. Since then I have always put them on top. It may just have been that one guy looking for excuses but I would always check the installation guides if I were you

why dont you get ovens in which the doors open and slide under the microwave

You will mean like the Neff slide and hide oven. It’s because of the nature of a microwave door. It is a lot thicker than a typical oven door so the space you would have to leave for it is too much. Maybe as technology improves it will get thinner and be able to roll,under. Thanks for the comment

I was told that the crumbs and general food scraps get caught in the slide, and can stop it sliding.

Do you need to take the metal sides and shelf out of these before using as microwaves?

No the wire shelf and metal sides can stay in for all forms of cooking. The solid baking /universal tray should be taken out when using any of microwave functions. That applies to the machines we sell, but always check with your user manual first
