Dr Peng, thanks for the video. I found it through a Google search as I’m currently performing this experiment on myself. I had PRP on my knees about two weeks ago and this upcoming Saturday I will have the hyrulonic acid procedure. Your video supports my hypothesis and is encouraging. Just had both of my arthritic knees injected for the first time with HA last week and am following up with PRP injections next month. I questioned the doc about the size of the blood draw and he said 60cc for each knee which will give him about 4cc of PRP to inject in each knee under ultrasound guidance. keeping my fingers crossed for a good results. I am 56 with moderate to severe arthritis

I’m thinking of having a hyaluronic acid shot in October, and then PRP about 4 weeks later. Does that make sense? Is there any way to regrow knee articular cartilage at age 50? PRP and prolotherapy seem to focus more on inflammation/pain management. Hear there is one type of stem cell therapy (umbilical cord) that shows promise but am unsure of what type of cartilage is thought to be capable of growth. Would appreciate your thoughts/medical perspective Dr. Peng

So a patient with moderate knee OA will typically experience pain when performing high impact activities such as jogging. The pain is caused by inflammation which is a consequence of cartilage loss. While PRP and HA treatment will not regenerate cartilage, it will have anti inflammatory properties that reduce pain symptoms. The patient can then jog longer and experience less pain symptoms. Is that the idea?🤔

Ok, coming from the military where we do testing of all kinds, we control the protocol for the tests so we can determine the outcomes...why cant the tests be setup in the Med community to do just that, PRP + HA and HA alone and PRP alone along with the correct protocol for each test to ensure max efficacy, Like the 4-6 times the baseline platelet count , and the 3 shots etc using guided US for injection sites etc...we have random conclusions that seem contradictory because the input side of the testing is all over the map. No wonder most Docs poo poo the PRP , they read the studies and see the lack of evidence to support the theory...I am the perfect example, Iw was given NSAIDs in my IV after my Menisectomy, and PRP injection, through my IV. .... Lets control some variables !

Do you believe hyaluronic acid injection could be good for patellar tendinopathy?

HA injections have not been studied extensively for soft tissues such as tendon. Smaller clinical trials suggest there may be some benefit through it's visco-elastic effects. But it's still unclear. Unfortunately, patellar tendinopathy is very difficult to treat and even PRP studies show mixed results.

PRP combined with HA has been studied extensively and most of the newer studies suggest there is no additional benefit of adding HA to PRP and that PRP alone is sufficient. I'm making a video on this based off one of these newer studies, so stay tuned!

I had Monovisc (Sodium hyaluronate 22mg/ml ) injection 2 milliliter, together with Tropocells PRP 22 ML 10 days ago. For the past few days, I'm being woken from my sleep by the numbness of my hands n whole body is about to collapse. I'm worried, is it normal or is it a side effect ?
