Yeah, odd story. Being in family court a lot makes me believe the story. If the man was alive, he’d absolutely be responsible for child support (if he didn’t get with the woman). If they got divorced, this woman wouldn’t be on hook for anything. This woman doesn’t need to respond to the baby momma at all. No obligations. She’d have to have her baby, get paternity established, and then go for any support. Depending on this man’s will, and his financials, the wife may have to deal with some social security interruption. But in reality, by the time this is all said and done, the child may not get anything, and wouldn’t be able to get anything from the estate. Depends on how he set up his estate (if he did at all). In theory, everything may go to the wife, with everything being said and done before this woman can even ask for support. She needs to stop communicating with the baby momma period. You don’t want any type of assumed relationship established.

She only felt like she was going to be caught so she wanted to look better by "coming clean" now, she expects a gold medal for telling the truth now and doesn't understand the betrayal the husband is feeling, but wants sympathy when her husband turns around and says he actually wants a divorce. Story 3- I was stalked horrifically when I was 18 and just moved out for university (living alone for the first time, 'free' to do whatever I wanted, drug, booze, etc). I had no idea who the guy was at all. I got introduced to a friend's friend and we hit it off. Stalking started a few weeks later but I chalked that up to being more extroverted, idk. He was doing a film course and wrote a movie script that he wanted to read out to me. I agreed because we were friends. It was supposed to be a group activity at his house, but 'coincidentally' everyone else was a no-show. The script was about a guy who stalked, SA'd and brainwashed a girl into becoming his perfect housewife. The female lead's name was the same as mine and the male stalker lead's name was the longer version of this guy's name (think Benjamin and Ben). It turned out that he had been stalking me for a year and a half and that this script was his 'manifesto'/sick, twisted fantasy that he had to write down. I was locked in his house for 14 hours while he begged me to be with him. He only let me go because I agreed to 'let him' stalk me more because he thought it was a fun game. He ended his life a few months afterwards. Stalking is not fun. The OP of story 3 needs serious help.

As someone who has "legally" died and had 3 heart surgeries by the time I was 3, I have a lot of opinions on Story 1. Namely, the little girl is not in the wrong for wanting the surface-level aspects of a wedding. She's a child, so although a wedding is so much more than color schemes and first dances, it makes sense that those are the parts she cares about. She is dealing with something very real and scary. And I do think it makes sense that she would be saddened over hearing about these exciting aspects of life that she literally may not have. Still, taking over someone's wedding is so wrong. I think instead her parents should advocate for a Quince/ sweet 16. For my Quince, I literally did wear a wedding dress. We did have a church ceremony, and it was incredibly meaningful. My parents made speeches that, given my health history, were really emotional about how proud they were I made it to such an age. It's literally a full-on wedding except without a husband. You get to pick the color scheme, we did have a full dance. Cut the cake, rent a limo, the whole nine. I had an escort. It's a beautiful thing and all the more better cause it got to just be about ME :)

Here’s an update told him this fourth of July. After the fireworks mostly ended and we were heading back, I asked him in the car, "Wouldn't it have been weird if we met each other before the first time we actually met? But we just didn't think of each other as significant at the time?" He smiled and turned to me saying, "Pfft, that's impossible. There's no universe where we would have met and I would not think of you as significant." That statement struck me in the heart, because I knew I would soon prove that sentence VERY wrong, but i continued on with my plan anyway. "What if I told you we have met each other before? Before that time I was introduced as 'E's little brother's friend'?" He looked at me like I was crazy, so that's when I pulled over on the side of the road and pulled out my phone to show him the post I put up here before, that explained everything. He took about 8 minutes to read the whole thing, and when he finished he put the phone down and stared straight ahead, almost like he was dumbfounded, scared, and confused all at the same time. I started throwing out every excuse and apology I could muster at the moment for about 15 minutes straight when he decided to tell me to stop, and I did. Then he just sat there and sobbed uncontrollably for about 10 minutes before he finally asked me how much of our relationship, and how much of my identity, was fabricated according to his liking, I told him the honest truth, none of my personality or identity was fabricated for him, accept for the fact of how we met. The only thing I ever changed about myself to make him like me more was lying about liking Chinese food, I hate Chinese food. But other than that everything else was real. Although my friendship with his younger brother was built upon ill intentions, my friendship between his brother and I are now one of the most genuine friendships I have now. He just cried and told me that he does not want to divorce at all, but he does want us to have some time apart so that he could absorb the truth that I gave him. He also said that he expects me to tell his brother and mom this Friday because they deserve to know the truth just as much as he did. I told him okay, and we drove the rest of the ride home in silence. When we got home he hugged me and cried for about 5 minutes before he got out the car, packed his stuff, and said that he will be staying at a nearby hotel for now. He said that he knows that he still loves me, but does not yet know how to react to the fact that the beginning of our relationship was very, very orchestrated. To sum it all up, I guess telling him was a success? I honestly don't know. He sent me a goodnight and I love you text last night while he was at the hotel, so I guess he's noy as much mad as he may be betrayed? UPDATE 2: Woke up this morning to find out that "hubby" not only lied about going to a hotel to stay at, but also lied about not wanting a divorce, through a text message. He went to his family's home, not a fuvking hotel. Told them the entire story himself, probably exaggerated it too to make me seem crazy. His whole family wants nothing to do with me too, claims I'm psycho. He said that he lied about going to a hotel, because he knew if he told the truth I would try to stop him? Honestly I feel so betrayed. I tried to be a good wife by showing him the true me, and this is what he does? I did all this work just for it to end up like this? Honestly, I kind of deserve it. I didn't even tell him in the first place because I felt bad, I told him because I had a suspicion that he was catching on to the fact that I knew him for two and a half years before he knew me, largely because I found out he was keeping my old phone in his work desk. My old phone that has screenshots of a lot of his old instagram posts, plans in my notes app about him, etc. So I guess he never truly loved me if he can't even get past an honest confession like this one. I might update this in a few years when I find a new husband lol.

Story 3- I feel like both Morgan and Lauren are making excuses for the stalker or at least making light of the situation. Like yes, they're having the conversations about its wrong but they counter it with justification. Like the "who hasn't had a crush on their brother's friend" or "social media has changed dating and liking post" as being similar to taking notes, orchestrating a plan to get close by using people. The "oh its a kid crush that worked out" bit gave me the ick. No thats not a normal kid crush. The last update did not give off "there's hope" vibes for the OP changing. They used the good old "oh they didn't actually love me for my shitty thing I did" excuse (would that be classified as gaslighting?) Hinting they'll be a new victim and no where did OP make it shown she actually learned what she did as wrong. She admitted she only told him because he was catching on, it wasn't because she actually felt guilty or cared. She wanted the opportunity to stay in control of the situation. The "I came clean, so why am I getting punished" bit makes her sound like narcissistic and emotional abusive. Good for the husband for lying about going to the hotel- that alone tells you he felt unsafe and made a smart decision to keep himself safe. She did not learn, they'll be another victim and worse part is: She's going to be more Can I ving conniving to stay in control.

If a young person is serious, they'll scheme and manipulate just as efficiently as an adult, and get results too, if not through wisdom, then through the abundant amount of free time they have. My name's also Olivia and Im also a teen cancer survivor! I got diagnosed at 17 and have been cancer free for 6 years. The parents of Olivia need to back off and let the couple have their wedding be just about them. Not only is it an extremely unreasonable request of the couple getting married, but whats more concerning is Olivia's parents behavior towards their sick daughter. When I was sick my parents would never have dared to entertain the idea of me dying or not getting to live my dreams, and that positive mindset is more powerful than ANYTHING. I find it very disheartening that they seem to welcome the idea that she won't survive by having her dream wedding at 15.

There was a similar story about this guy who stalked his wife for years even creating tinder accounts to stalk her and find her fav things etc before finally "meeting her in a bar". 1st story isn't even a little difficult for me. Maybe I'm just callous, but I'm really good at separating "what people are going through," from "what people want." The girl is going through an awful medical situation that could risk her life. What her parents want is to take over their older kid's wedding. It's like the bridesmaid who wanted to change the color of her dress after her mom died. The bad situation and the request are entirely uncoupled from each other, so I can easily feel full sympathy and empathy while also clearly pointing out that no one has any obligation to give them their way just because they're going through something difficult.

For the second story, and Morgan sharing her mother's experience as an executor, just wanted to chime in about how hard it is! I watched my dad go through it for his aunt (who was like a mother to him) a few years ago, and I thought it was going to break him at one point. Dealing with more estranged family coming out of the woodwork with their hands open, greedy for any penny they can get, while he's just trying to do right by his aunt, was heartbreaking. My dad is such a strong person, but it was so hard for him to go through that, while he was also trying to grieve someone who was so important to him. To anyone going through the same, I see you, and I'm sending you love, cause it's so hard!

Re Grief: This is a perfect example of grief. These parents are grieving the loss of their child’s future. They are grieving the idea of their lives that they have lost. Source: therapist in training. People experience grief when they accept truths about their past or themselves because they are letting go of the hope/idea that they have the power to somehow alter the unalterable. Many ppl and parents also grieve the loss of many things when adjusting to a diagnosis whether or not it is terminal.

Okay and personal/professional favorite (I rly like validating grief if you can’t tell) is honoring the grieving process that is necessary to let go of “It’s my fault that I lost this great person” to “this person and this relationship weren’t that great, they were abusive, and I didn’t do anything to deserve it. My birth mom didn't take many pictures, my my grandparents on my dad's side used to film me often. She was going through old home movies to take still shots of when she started screaming. She was watching a video of me in the hospital at 1 day old when she saw HER grandparents walk down the hospital hallway as I was being wheeled out of the nursery, walk over to me, and say hello. Now let me put this into perspective here. My future step mom's family met me at 1 day old, years before my mom and dad divorced. And we had it all on video.

It's actually Surprisingly more common than people think. There have been over three hundred cases since the sixties and it Makes up six percent of all infant abductions.

(Spoiler for story 3) Ok but WHAT this whole story is crazy I’m truly so happy that the husband got a divorce it is beyond mind boggling that anyone could try and excuse her behavior

So glad people on Reddit tore into the husband in Story 4. The wife deserves much more supportive and kind people around her.

First story: If she is terminal, she gets a Make A Wish… she can have her own “wedding” as her wish…. Right?
@catT5236 Жыл бұрын
She's not terminal which is why it's so weird the parents are acting this way. By indulging this with the "she might not get a real wedding" excuse they are encouraging a very negative mindset which is not at all helpful when fighting cancer. They shouldn't be doing "just in case" stuff but giving her a great birthday party to look forward to instead.

If they don't take their dumb asses to GoFundMe😂 the audacity to ask somebody to share their wedding like a little party for 15-year old is insane and then only want to pay 25% for the extra expenses GTFO my face🤣
