Andrew Peterson is a lyrical genious, he puts words together like the Apostle Paul.

Oh my goodness. Wow. I am completely new to your work--both written and musical. But this is just...beautiful. Wow. Musically, lyrically, imagery, everything. This just settled into my soul like a piece of home I never knew I had. Thank you for sharing this with the world!

Oh, man! I never watched this (the label put it up), so all those pesky typos and spelling errors slipped through. The writer in me just died a little. Still, I'm glad you guys like the song. :)

This song, and this whole album are nothing short of a masterpiece! I cry every time I listen to it. It feels especially relevant now, with the hurricanes pounding the coast, and wildfires raging out west; the current political climate, and all the division around us. Thank you for sharing your heart with us!

Hi Andrew - I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your music. 2018 was a very difficult year for me. Until that March, I had not ever come across your music! A good friend recommended the song "Remember Me" and from the first listen I instantly felt deeply ministered to. I searched to see if you had any other music released and soon discovered your incredible and growing collection. Your songs became the soundtrack for me as my struggle during 2018 involved a huge amount of solo travel. I can't put into words the way the Holy Spirit uses your tremendous talent and obvious obedience and humility to bless people like me who have been stopped in their tracks by your music. It seems to come from another place...I can hear a holy unearthliness that seems to go well beyond your superb musicianship and lyrical strength. I hope this is an encouragement to you today, Andrew. Also at 2:22 "The trees of the field all wring their hands." But yeah, great piece. Love what Ben Shive did with the production, too.

Lyrics I remember the day of the Tennessee flood The sound of the scream and the sight of the blood My son, he saw as the animal died In the jaws of the dog as the river ran by I said, "Come back soon" It's there on the page of the book that I read The boy grew up and the yearling was dead He stood at the gate with the angel on guard And wept for the death of his little boy heart I say, "Come back soon." We wake in the night in the womb of the world We beat our fists on the door We cannot breathe in this sea that swirls So we groan in this great darkness For deliverance, deliverance, oh, Lord I sit on the bench at the bend in the trail And I can feel in the fall the final exhale The trees of the field all wring their hands And the leaves go by like a funeral band I say, "Come back soon" We wake in the night in the womb of the world We beat our fists on the door We cannot breathe in this sea that swirls So we groan in this great darkness Are we alone in this great darkness? If nature's red in tooth and in claw Then it seems to me that she's an outlaw 'Cause every death is a question mark At the end of the book of a beating heart And the answer is scrawled in the silent dark On the dome of the sky in a billion stars But we cannot read these angel tongues And we cannot stare at the burning sun And we cannot sing with these broken lungs So we kick in the womb and we beg to be born Deliverance, deliverance, oh Lord

At 1:38... shouldn't that be "we beat our fists?" Brilliant song.
