I hope you will enjoy this video-I had so much fun in the Fort Worth Antique Mall! Since I started this KZbin channel, I have never released a video late UNTIL today. You will see that half way through the video the audio is corrupted in places. I have spent the entire day trying to figure out why it plays fine on my computer but not on KZbin. I am so sorry. I hope that you will still get some ideas and enjoyment from this less than perfect video!

This was such a great video. I might never get to a Texas antique mall (and with those prices...I don't think I'm in too big a hurry) but having you point out different items and talk about them and compare them to things you have or things you've refurbished was SO MUCH FUN. Thanks Sherry. Do one of these again. :) As always, a terrific post!

Leeann please come to Texas . We do have a lot of good antique stores .I do know this store and it is wonderful in that it has so much to choose from . I live in Weatherford not far from Ft Worth and we have a lot of reasonable antique stores .And then there is Granbury , Azle , then further east closer to my sister home is Gladewater, Canton , Tyler . So many . Don’t give up . Texas is really a big state and a lot of good bargains . But whatever she finds it will be beautiful when she gets finished.

I really enjoyed this video. I, too, like flour sifters. I repurposed one by using it as the shade of the pendant light over my kitchen sink. Others I have lined up on a deep window sill in the kitchen. Each one has a little plant in it. I simply tie a red ribbon on the top of the handle for Christmas. Thanks for a fun video !

Sherry, it definitely pays to know your stuff! AND I think seeking out treasures is almost more fun than getting them. I think garage sales and salvage yards, etc., are the way to go. As you said some things are worth the money, like the card catalogue, but many are priced for profit... fun watching you catch the cheats! lol!

Sherri---I had so much fun, antique shopping with you! I think you were spot-on with the antique vs. vintage pieces . After my retirement from Nursing, I worked in a large antique mall. I am sure that every one of my paychecks made its way back into the mall (lol). I have been collecting pink milk glass for many years. Fostoria and Jeanette were companies that produced the glass. I`m so excited to see your DIY projects inspired by your adventure!

As a resident of Fort Worth who has a booth at an antique mall here, not all are priced as much as Montgomery Street! Montgomery Street has been around forever and has many great antiques. With construction all around them, they’ve been in fear of being closed and bulldozed over for several years now. I am a vendor at Lone Star Antique Mall, about :15 from Montgomery Street. They have been in business for over 20 years. We have tons of great antique malls, vintage shops, thrift stores, and markets in our area. Good deals can definitely be found in abundance in Cowtown!

I'm a Waco Texan who can testify that the tourists crazed with Terminal Magnolia Syndrome and OMG-I-Love-Roundtop-Itis have infected our antiques industry here and driven up prices insanely. There are still smaller malls in smaller Texas towns where you can make better deals.

Being originally from Fort Worth, Montgomery Street Antique Mall is always a fun place to visit. But if you ever get back to Texas to prowl around, First Monday Trade Days in Canton (east of Dallas) is the place to visit. It covers many, many acres. There are pavilions, open air vendor areas, and shops. You need to plan on spending the entire weekend and bring your walking shoes!!! It is so awesome! But remember Texas weather...avoid the hot months!

Ms. Sherry: that was so fun! We could all hear the clicking of your brain cells a million miles an hour!! It was great to see how, with all your experience, you were able to tell what prints and items were not actually vintage or antique. Very helpful for our own shopping! It is good for artists to see other people's art to get the creative juices flowing. I am not talking about copying, I am talking about the inspiration that it engenders. We look at something, and the mind just spins out in all directions with ideas that are totally different than what we are looking at. I call it "Loading the Hump", as in the way a camel loads its hump for the journey. Artists benefit by loading our creative "humps", looking at other's work, to chew and process mentally, then to transmorgify into new artist endeavors. Thanks for all you do for us! Looking forward to next week's video!

You are so savvy. I enjoyed your commentary. I have observed that “antique” stores are often “flea markets”, in reality. The mall is located in high end Forth Worth , thus the big mark-up. And people don’t know how to shop the market. Educate yourself , learn by browsing, and spend wisely. And , of course, watch CANTERBURY COTTAGE. Best wishes from Alabama.🇺🇸

It is amazing what we can find at Goodwill, Salvation Army or a thrift store n estate sales that are vintage or antiques. Since the internet people are getting smarter n looking up what things are worth. I remember back in the 90tys when I went to estate sales I could find so many cool n old things but not anymore. As I said many times your a very creative lady n many of what you’ve done over could be mistaken as something vintage. Thanks Sherry for taking us along. Hello, I do adore your videos ! I am french, sorry for my bad english ! I can tell you what is the cabinet at 1'43" (695$) : it's a "panetière", very useful in Provence until the beginning of the XXème century. It was put a little high on a wall, or on another piece of furniture, to protect the bread against rats and mices. Its name comes from bread in french : "pain". This one is beautiful, and very typical.

When my daughter was at TCU I was able to spend the whole day in this store. Truly amazing! I enjoyed your trip as well. :-)

That’s so funny because we were attending a wedding of two former TCU students!

I live an hour east of the Dallas FT Worth area and I have never been to that antique mall but from the looks of the prices I wouldn't walk out with much either. I like the candle stands you got. If you make it to Texas again try to go to Canton First Monday Trades Day. It is a HUGE flea market open the weekend that proceeds the first Monday of the month. As an example this past weekend it was open. Just plan on spending the weekend as you can't see all of it in one day. There's a good mixture of new/old/antique and generally the prices are reasonable.
