I’m struggling with my mental health right now to the point where scripture study has become something painful and fearful that I’ve avoided doing all day. I was scrolling on KZbin and accidentally clicked this video. I like to start scripture study by listening to a hymn, and I love this song so much. I know this is not a coincidence. Time to read whatever verses I can.

I sang this in my dad’s ear as he passed away. We had a beautiful violinist play it at his funeral. It’s been 3 years and I haven’t been able to listen to it. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it mount of God's redeeming love. 2 Here I find my greatest treasure; hither by thy help I've come; and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God; he, to rescue me from danger, bought me with his precious blood. 3 Oh, to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be! Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee: prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here's my heart, O take and seal it; seal it for thy courts above. I always rejoice when the organ comes in during the end of the first verse and the choir ladies have kept the pitch, because I've been there, done that with the Arizona Mormon Choir. Here, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir did the best job I've ever heard with this beautiful hymn. I was sobbing with emotion at the power of God's spirit as I heard it live (over TV). I wasn't alone. A couple of choir members I know amply demonstrated how they were affected at singing praises with this gorgeous arrangement. Well done. Well done!

Humanity is capable of such awe inspiring beauty and shameful destruction. That nearly incomprehensible duality seems impossible absent the understanding of the elements at work in our hearts. While there is clearly a dark force at work in the natural man, the element of refinement which edifies and inspires creativity is the selflessness imprinted on us by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Want a solution to the world's problems? It is found in that gospel and the moderating, pacifying, love promoting, patient selflessness it donates to every human being that adopts and practices it. Though the conflict between the natural man and selflessness rages within me and I remain frustrated by my tendency to wander from the God I love, like the weeping singer in this video, I know truth when I see and hear it and am inspired to tears by it.

Anyone who has sung in a choir knows the terror of singing a capella (without accompaniment), knowing that the instruments will be coming back in, and if you have slipped off pitch it will be painfully obvious! Here the women start a capella, and when the organ comes in at :34 they are RIGHT ON. Then the men take the chord at 2:05 and start singing a capella in new key. The women join them, and when the organ comes back in at 3:04 the entire choir is still perfectly on pitch. So difficult to pull off! And how about Richard Elliott on the Conference Center organ!!!

I have received personal revelation since a child of the truth that God leads His church through his Prophets in each dispensation of time. Worthy is the Lamb! This is the very sacred message of the Cross! GOOD NEWS! (Truth in a nutshell) Through the Power of the Atoning Grace of Jesus Christ, "ALL" people will be resurrected and saved from physical DEATH.The eternal glory we receive will depend on our faithfulness.Through the grace of God, all can be saved from their sins (see 2 Nephi 25:23; Helaman 5:10-11) as they repent and faithfully follow Jesus.
