Love this! I do contracting sonography as well but all the locations are an hour or more away from me so I’m always waking up early 🥲 Also I have to sadly set up a machine at most locations!!!

I have to set up machines too at some of the offices! Wow an hour is so long. I did that for a while when I started but commuting made me upset lol so I decided to move. But I love it so far!

I Love This For You ❤ I Have Been Binge Watching Your Videos For The Last Week As A Current Student. You Have Given Me So Much Information! I'm Super Nervous But Super Excited. I Remember In A Video, You Said You Were Working On Fetal Echo. Are You Still Doing That Or Are You Still Just Abdominal & OBGYN? The Track At My School Is Abdominal, OBGYN, & Vascular!

Loved your video! I've been thinking of joining the Sonography work place aswell, the only thing that's stopping me is the work schedule. I have two boys who require a lot of my time and working part-time is the only option for me. Do you know if part-time is available for the Sonography career?

Do you need a certain amount of experience for a position like this or do you not recommend this for someone coming right out of school? Would love to see a pros and cons video! 🤗
@KristyDMS2 жыл бұрын
Typically a good amount of experience under your belt would be ideal! This is just because the company is trusting you’re competent in scanning and seeing what you see. As a contracting sonography there isn’t a “boss” that keeps an eye on us when we go to these offices. So you have to be comfortable with working pretty independent!

Quick question, been thinking of moving to the south however sonographers get paid more in California. The cost of living in California is substantially higher as well..was wondering if I should work in CA first, save and then move down or just move down and accept the lower pay for the same job just cost of living is different. Need advice

Hello Kristy, I just found your KZbin channel 🙂 I have been very interested in joining the program and I was wondering if you attended a program in CA or another state? If you did attend in CA, do you have any recommendations on which program to apply to and what exactly are the pre-reqs I need to apply? I was also worrying about salary because there have been a couple of people make comments that it is hard to find a job in CA as a DMS, is this true?😓
@yarazard2 жыл бұрын
Hey Giselle, I just wanted to let you know that pre-reqs depend on the school but the basic ones are sciences and math like physics and biology. Also, some programs require a Bachelors, while others do not. If moving is not an issue for you, you should check out the schools in TX!

Hi! I've recently been really interested in becoming a Sonographer. I came across your page and love your videos! They're very informational! Thanks for sharing. What is the typical salary if you don't mind me asking? Every website says something drastically different. Look forward to hearing from you.

Depends on where you work. California is about $75,000 - well over $100,000. Not trying to blow up your page Kristy lol. Just looking around at travelers and found your page

@kristydms hey Kristy,how are you? My name is Courtney, and I just got accepted into the cardiovascular sonography program here at my school and I am planning on doing a paid internship while in school. Do you have an tips or suggestions on what I should put on my resume since I don’t have experience within the field yet? However I do have plenty of customer service experience which I feel will go hand and hand! ❤

Haha! This is probably one of the biggest misconceptions about Ultrasound. I worked at a local trauma hospital my entire career thus far. We did eveything from biopsies to OR cases and anything in between. We work hard. Outpatient isn’t quite as crazy but it’s very very busy outpatient. Again, not trying to hyjack your page lol

Hi Kaitlyn, do you get paid well in SoCal? Located in SoCal as well but can’t really find any info about salary for DMS. If you are willing to, would you be able to provide an estimate? :)
@kaitlyngortner25732 жыл бұрын
Hi ! Right now I’m only getting 26$ and hour because I haven’t taken my registry. It’s also my FIRST job. The average hourly pay here is 30$-60$

Did you negotiate salary instead of hourly, and how did you go about doing that?
@KristyDMS2 жыл бұрын
i believe since i was willing to do fulltime, salary was offered. bc its a traveling type of job they needed you to flexible, which guaranteed a salaray based pay. however if i wanted to be part time, hourly was offered.

Start looking up traveling nurses on you tube. You’ll find a lot more information. I’ve been a Sonographer for about 20 years and looking into travel. I live in california and have been connecting with travel nurses to see how it all works.
