Glad this is the top comment! My genuine pet peeve is how many fans, players, media, both mainstream and social media, view the game of basketball strictly through the offensive lens. It’s like they try to tell us what our eyes are seeing is not what we are actually seeing. Defense matters, players that compete on defense and are skilled offensively impact the game on a greater level. A winning level. Fans will point to stat lines and say “Luka did his job he had a triple double “ ~ it’s everyone else’s fault. They will say Tatum was trash, because he shot poorly, but he had a bigger overall impact on the game and his team won! SMH. It’s a team game, and great players make an impact both offensively and defensively.
@greatone2757 ай бұрын
That's what the league is now is all offensive, but all night when Boston needed a basket they would isolate Luka and blow right past him it was incredible to watch

I love Reggie Miller. I live 2 hours north of Indy and I loved it that he led the Pacers to the finals. MJ is favorite player and The GOAT. But I have so much respect for Reggie. In 98 the Bulls were supposed to walk through the Pacers but Reggie had other plans. I still believe if they would have beat the Bulls in 98 the Pacers would have beat the Jazz. They were strong in areas the Bulls were weak. They bigger, stronger and younger, I believe they would have won in 5 or 6 games. Reggie was a lethal shooter, and a great clutch shooter.

If you have followed the Celtics and Brown and Tatum entrance careers, you are not surprised by Brown emerging as their best player. He has always had the higher ceiling because he is the better athlete. I always thought JB ceiling was Kawhi and JT ceiling was PG . JT was just a more polished player coming out of the better program under Coach K.
@jackinralph17 ай бұрын
I kinda agree but I simplify it even more JB is a DOG JT has no dog in him at all. I do like like that JT is finding other ways to affect the game when his shot is not going. I also think that is JB goes off one of the next games or in a close out game and Boston wins he will be the MVP
@jasonwolfe32527 ай бұрын
@jackinralph1 Kobe is his favorite player and I wish that he would imitate his mentality instead of trying to imitate his turnaround midrange that he rarely makes.
@jackinralph17 ай бұрын
@@jasonwolfe3252 You are spot on. I want you to picture JT with 25% Mamba mentality...scary right. Sadly he has none but his talent is off the charts. Booker said Kobe was his favorite also and he only has 0.5% Mamba but it still looks tougher than JT
@leodesforges1617 ай бұрын
Developing killer mentality is really tough and who knows if JT will ever get that, but he has 10 good years to go. But, if JT is a KD type player with better toughness, strength and rebounding? That’s a great career too.
