Comedian Steve Hofstetter Gun Control
bit.ly/2CHLudt
This is Part 4 of my video debunking a video from a comedian claiming he Defeated every Argument Against Gun Control. His video had 23 points so here is my response to his arguments:
16 - Steve argues gun control IS NOT a slippery slope
17 - Guns Will NOT protect you from a government that is hell bent on seizing them from you
18 - We can't fight the government because the gap between what the military have and civilians have is not the same as it was in 1975
19 - People who are against gun control are hypocrites because they aren't doing anything to support mental health
20 - We shouldn't just leave law abiding gun owners alone just because there are other things in the world to worry about
... and if you haven't already make sure you go and watch parts 1-3
Part 1 - • Comedian Claims He Def...
Part 2 - • Part 2 - Comedian Clai...
Part 3 - • Comedian Claims He Def...
I want you to make sure you have your notifications turned on by hitting the bell symbol and click ALL so you'll be notified when I release part 5.

Not to mention the amount of service members and police officers that would go rouge and fight back against a government trying to take the people's fire arms.

I was wondering about that. I figured urban warfare would be _much worse_ for the attacker than fighting in a jungle. The hiding places are better. Verticality is _far_ more relevant (shout out to the Rooftop Koreans). Better entrenchment. Tougher and less flammable cover. Camo is inconsistently effective. And a _far_ greater breadth of resources for the defenders are just a few things that came to mind.

In new york no one trusts officers. Semi auto ban in place, and i know there are many officers have zero problem taking any firearm away for any reason even if your at the boat launch after legally duck hunting and tired as hell. The laws are outrageous, 3 years ago a scrawny, 20+ yrs old son of my homeowners association board literally came to my house, literally dragged my Disabled father off of my 5 foot tall porch and proceeded to beat him over the head with an iron pipe, while i was away from home for work. Cops were called. I made it home 3 minutes before officers arrived, They questioned the "man" and did not conduct any search because he was in his home and it was neck-deep in COVID era. They said we cannot prove anything so nothing can be done. When i was 18, 2 years of driving a car, in the year 2012 i was pulled over on my way back from hunting deer unsuccessfully. The officer decided because i was traveling through a "populated" area (traveling alone in my car, headed out of town inbetween my family land and my home, on a 55mph road) wearing camouflage gave him reasonable cause to confiscate a 40 year old mossberg shotgun. He told me to file a paper to have it returned to me. I did nothing wrong. 2014, 2017, 2020 and 2021 i had filed for my handgun permit and never recieved anything but denials and i am not a felon. Each time i waited over ten months, And i payed to sit 6 hours, to take my firearms training 5 TIMES. Every time it led back to when i was questioned, just questioned about a fight when i was 18, where i was detained for questioning. I was released, and no charges were ever filed and because i was questioned and failed to mention it on application i have been failed repeatedly. I have wasted unbelievable money, time and have refunded plenty of purchased handguns being held by FFL liscenced businesses because i could not get my liscence. And i see citizens who are liscence holders who are all types, completely inconsiderate(bragging or flashy), accident prone, self centered, poor barrel disciplined, finger always on the trigger, sometimes most likely the ones to commit a crime or maliscious act, still able to get thier pistol permit. And i would be the one to take the best care of my own and yet here i am. Its a disgrace and i do not trust anyone of any status, outside of my own home.

Back to the whole “just look at Vietnam” argument, I’ve never heard anyone make that argument without including the taliban, Al Qaeda, and Isis. @crocidile90

And even then most of those don't work once you get into the details (where the devil resides because no one looks at them) that even those are poor examples. Vietnam: most of the fighters were vets from fighting the French and only won because the DNC decided to make Gerald Ford look bad after Nixon QQ'd the presidency and GAVE the north the win after abandoning the south for 2 years. Taliban and Al Qaeda: only existed because the CIA and boomers wanted to stick it to the soviets damn the consequences, also forever wars were needed lest those powers at be allow the righteous civies to own the weapons to over throw them so, forever wars kept the MIC in their pockets. ISIS: same-ish as before but, we had a president that actually hurt them, also helped other countries were also focused on getting rid of them instead of just using it as a money laundering scheme (like the Ukraine conflict now) to racket ALL the money. Also sub/urban areas are FAR worse to fight in than wilderness for innumerable amount of reasons.

An important point here also to #17 - on top of what you already said, soldiers have no duty to obey what is known as an "unlawful order" no matter who it is coming from. And since the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land, an order to confiscate or rob the civilians of their Second Amendment rights is literally the definition of an unlawful order. Furthermore, if you send in hundreds or even thousands of trained soldiers who are willing to fight for their government instead of their country into an area against hundreds of thousands of armed citizens, regardless of their own training, and those soldiers are going to lose based on sheer numbers.

Even in California, most sheriff departments, and many police departments, are resistant to these kinds of rules. They made some laws (not voted on by the people, just passed by state legislation) regarding taking weapons from people who had prescribed certain medications, including ones used as sleep aids, but only LA county (and maybe San Diego?) complied. Our sheriff announced flat out that she would not be enforcing that. During the pandemic, the same sheriff aired part of a zoom meeting where a high-ranking member of the Governor's staff was trying to instruct all of the sheriffs that they had to start enforcing masking rules in public and social distancing and the sheriffs were like, you don't have authority over county officials, only state officials. Our sheriff told him that he was have to use park rangers and beach patrols and Fish and Wildlife management to enforce those rules because, in California, county sheriffs and police were too busy re-arresting all the criminals that the governor's new zero bail policy and Covid early releases had put back on the streets.

The promise, the prema facia rationale, for gun control is crime/violence control. For years the anti-2a side has cheered Australia and jeered the US b/c the former banned and confiscated firearms, leading to the statement, ".. and they haven't had a "mass shooting" since, why can't the US?' besides the fact there was a mas shooting in the last few years, this comment didn't say their wasn't anymore violence or mass murder, just, specifically, no mass shootings. England also recently basically banned personal defensive firearms. Surprise, "gun crime" decreased, but "knife and other weapon crime" spiked upward rather quickly but now, law abiding citizens don't have access to a means to even out, or supplant, any physical advantage the criminal attackimg them with a knife has the way a 94yr old can 'over power a teenage aggressor.

The Russian military didn't defeat Afghanistan and is not beating Ukraine because fighting in someone's backyard is extremely difficult if not impossible. @@qcdsticks I have nothing against people actually defending themselves. I’ve just seen too many stories of people who have misused firearms just to hurt other people. And it’s not unknown for people to shoot someone then claim self-defense to try to get away with murder. Admittedly as someone who has never used a firearm in self-defense in my life, I don’t see too much significance for myself. I can respect people who live in areas where they actually need lethal self-defense, though. Honestly I see myself as more of a moderate when it comes to firearms. And I only think we should be regulating civilian versions of assault rifles. They’re used less frequently than pistols in shootings, yes, but they provide the best option for those who engage in Mass shootings. Also I’ve seen Noir here ignore actual statistics when he talks about gun violence, so I don’t see him as much better than the people he criticizes. I’d ask him for pointers on handling firearms and setting up for home defense, but gun rights vs gun control would literally be a screaming match. Also you’re all complaining about losing a constitutional right while officials appointed by the last president are taking away rights from other people, rights that Aren’t defended by the constitution. Ones they’ve been fight for for decades. I just don’t see gun control vs gun rights as the biggest issue these days compared to those. Addendum: I’ll admit that I support resisting a tyrannical government. I just don’t see the Biden Administration as tyrannical. The TRUMP administration, on the other hand….. Also I’m a brown coat, not a grey coat. And the big enemy wasn’t the Alliance as a whole, just those who engage in unethical efforts to forcibly change people’s mindsets. The Blue Suns, mostly.

It would have been too important to NOT mention, if they specifically had intended to EXCLUDE military arms.

If we remove all gang related statistics, I would love to know actual statistics of law abiding citizens that use guns in a unlawful manner..

“If you know you know” is maybe the stupidest, most redundant phrase ever to become a popular cliché. It’s literally *NO DIFFERENT* than the phrase “If you fart in the bathtub & pop the bubbles with your teeth, you fart in the bathtub & pop the bubbles with your teeth.”

With the crime rate in the United States, how much bolder would criminals be if they knew no one had guns to defend themselves?
