Philly Gas Station Rifles
bit.ly/2CHLudt
A Philadelphia gas station owner who was tired of the constant criminality that endangered his staff and customers hired heavily armed security guards to keep an eye on his establishment.
The owner stated, "They are forcing us to hire the security, high-level security, state level," and subsequently added, "We are tired of this nonsense; robbery, drug trafficking, hanging around, gangs."

30 years ago I was the target of an assault on a subway train. 4 against 1, until a MOUNTAIN (size 5XL) of a man next to me said: "I got those three - you take out wannabe Flava Flave". We jumped off, and they booked out of the car. 40 black and Hispanic people became friends at that moment. "We get up at 4 AM, work until 10, go back in at 4PM , work until 10, catching the last trains home. These hoodlums know when we get paid!" "We're robbed every damn time." "The damned po-lice can't be bothered." "What we need is guns, and the city ain't gonna do that no how."

I worked in maintenance in the Philadelphia School District back on the late 1990’s into the early 2000’s. I remember being in a high school where the kids would walk through a metal detector to get into school in the morning. After school started the metal detectors would be PUT AWAY in a closet and then the rest of the day the kids could come and go as they please without going through a metal detector again the rest of the day. This is the perfect example of making the public “feel safe”. It’s a shame.

People being poor is something that correlates with crime rates. Turns out right now personal debt is over person savings being a sign that most people are really poor and debt makes it worse thanks to interest rates. It's also the first time it ever happened at lest that I know of. I assume High crime is everywhere. Anyone who is not aware of that fact still thinks their kids will get to have the American dream when they grow up. Honestly having laws just for armed guards and having them every where would be a good idea. The police don't seem to be doing anything, anyways.

Go look at what the cities were like during the 70s and compare it today. Much much worse. This is why smart people get the fk out of those places so they don't have to live in constant fear. I lived in El Salvador, and honestly with the Salvadorans hiring armed guards walking around business areas made me feel safe. For context, El Salvador is a country with 2 of the most powerful gangs, MS-13 and deiciocho. So having an armed guard walking around just making sure you don’t get mugged would make me feel a lot safer than needing to watch myself at a gas station.
