West Yorkshire Police arrested an autistic girl for a "homophobic public order offence" a couple of nights ago, apparently for something she said in her own home (and therefore not a public order offence). She said a police officer looked like her "lesbian nana". Her nana is a lesbian, it's not homophobic, it's just an awkward but factual comment.
(it would've been funny if her nana was bisexual, then she'd have said the policewoman looked like her "binana" - would've been a double hate crime as a slur on Sir Robert Peel, who formed the first modern police force in the UK)
Anyway, in conclusion - weaponised autism will save Western liberal democracy.

@@JoJo-ko6pu A couple of years ago, we had one of the people in the apartment below, absolutely whacked out on drugs and losing his shit. He was doing laps around the flat in nothing but boxer shorts at 2am, then ran out into the road to do slow motion star jumps, before running across the road to the park and finally returning to smash his place up. Lots of strange shouting and screaming, he was running around the indoors on all floors too, banging on other peoples doors and trying to kick them in. None of his friends who had turned up could get him to stop, and because this had gone on for ages and it was stupidly late at night, we called the police. Explained everything, they didn't want to know, they said it was not down to them and it was more of an enviromental health officer issue seeing as the noise may not reach levels considered to be a breach of the peace. In the end the guy left a few weeks later and the landlord had to gut and rebuild the place, everything was wrecked, holes in the wall, smashed the windows etc, , about the only thing he didn't do was set the place on fire. ...but no, 7 cops show up, 6 of which were needed to protect the fee'fee's of that dyke looking power mad bully of a "cop". Absolute joke, especially her attitude when being told that the girl is autistic. "I don't care", says all you need to hear really, she deserves to be fired at the very LEAST, all of them do, not even one of the other pigs stepped in...pathetic lot. Remember when cops dealt with crimes? Ahh the good old days.

The pathetic thing is that you could at one stage see a male officer behind the blond midget who looked clearly uncomfortable with what she was saying and doing but was half-heartedly going along with the arrest she had started, likely because he feared being punished for wrong-think if he took his clearly out of control female colleague out of the house to calm down and diffused the situation.

Plods routinely misuse the "public order offense" line to slap the cuffs on people in their own homes. They almost always get away with it too. That law needs to be revoked, along with any other vaguely worded and discretionary powers, because clearly the police can't be trusted not to abuse these things just to win petty arguments and get revenge if they feel personally slighted.

She was already terrified of the police and hitting her head against a wall in the video and after being told she had spinal damage she was then forced to the floor by four police and restrained and in clear pain from this brutal attack from police. my question here though is was she drunk in the first place? or with special needs that can be clearly seen was this how she acts and was mistaken for being drunk? as many people with disabilities can in a nut shell act like a five year old because their brain and body don't age together. Indeed; another right wing ND here. I used to think I was alone in having right wing beliefs because I browsed the Reddit regularly, and although I know reddit isn't exactly the pinnacle of common sense, the autism subreddit is full of far left commie cranks. This support for woke ambiguity that doesn't align with typical symptoms of ASD has lead me to believe that many lefty individuals use identity politics to simply 'identify' as someone with a neurodevelopmental disorder no questions asked. They also seemingly ignored both of these instances Leo mentions which are clearly ableism by the police and law authorities. Wonder why that is....

Leo, you are right in what you say about autisitic people. I'm austistic, I have no filter in how I say things, and I am terrified of upsetting people and I hate confrontation, especially in today's insane world. I have a very strong sense of right and wrong and this is so wrong, as is many other stupid things that society is currently doing in the last few years. This incident has really upset me, I am so angry at how that girl has been treated. Even if this girl meant to insult the office, so what, it is clear that we are not even allowed to have opinions anymore - does history not show society that this is a very bad thing.
@charleshayes2528

@AlanMac56 I have autistic friends and relatives and I see the problem. But I would not want people to think that all autistic people have the same problems. Many of my autistic friends have a sense of what would be hurtful, although they would not see a problem in merely describing things factually. Where the police went wrong is mishearing description as insult. However, I disagree with the presenter of this film, since I and others have experienced vicious hate speech and even threats, so I don't think all hate speech is a non-crime (in the sense of implying it doesn't matter.)

@@KraziEyevin No, but I never said they should be. Anyhow, your comment is too general. The girl in this incident made an observation which is not hateful and she wasn't in public. No one should be wrestled to the ground for any verbal offence, but if someone violently harasses another person because of their race, sexuality or disability and refuses to stop, they may be arrested. If they resist arrest, they may be wrestled to the ground and taken into custody. I am not suggesting that I approve of the police doing that, I am saying it may happen. Indeed, my comments were about hate speech, not about the police action. Mr Kearse seemed to suggest that hate speech is not real. But anyone with any sense of history knows that isn't true. Whether it is overt and aggressive or quiet and indirect, people do use language to demean and to express hatred towards others. To recognise that is not to support police violence. I believe in free speech (and the right not to speak) and in the right to protest. I deplore what happened to the girl. But hate speech exists and can and does lead to violence. This doesn't mean I want to see all disagreement stamped out nor do I think we all have to keep our opinions to ourselves. What worries me is that we can't distinguish between the two extremes. On the one hand, this poor girl gets accused of hate speech by an officer whose body language seems to be full of hate and on the other, absolutely awful attitudes are defended in the name of free speech. You and I are free to comment and to agree or disagree, we can even comment on our disagreements, but that would not give me the right to insult you or call you names or make you feel afraid of me. The problem with the current situation is that it is too vague and the police are free to do as they please. We already have laws about threatening or abusive speech, if someone threatens or is abusive, then the law allows the police to act, but even then it should not immediately escalate to arrest and certainly not to violence, unless there is genuine cause for it.
@KraziEyevin
@KraziEyevin Жыл бұрын
@charleshayes2528 hateful speech exists, and I doubt Mr. Kearse denies that. I believe his position is more along the lines that laws against hate speech are antithetical to free speech, as this case illustrates for us. Hate speech regulation is simply another tool for agents of the state to control and suppress dissidents and anyone who offends them. "Hate speech isn't real" is often used as shorthand for that idea.

Your comments about autism, reminded me of a hilarious moment recently with one of my autistic students. He is a very tall 14 year old boy and despite all our best efforts, he swears like a trooper, his favourite word being the "F" word. We were walking down the corridor, past some junior boys, when he heard a junior say the "F" word. He stopped in his tracks, swung around to face the potty- mouthed culprit and said very loudly and authoratively: "F***ing hell! What kind of f***ing inappropriate language is that?" The whole corridor went silent, the red faced junior looked contrite and apologetic, and our gentle giant and self-appointed modifier of junior behaviour in the corridor, continued on his way oblivious to the shocked open-mouthed reaction from the students and the bemused look on the faces of teachers trying to pretend they did not hear him. Amusing moments aside, I do worry about the vulnerability of people with autism and also people with intellectual disabilities, both from the point of view of their susceptiblility to manipulation and also their vulnerability as likely targets accused of "hate speech" just because they speak as they find.

Are you sure the example you use is not someone with tourettes? I have aspergers but don't tend to swear too often and others with autism that I know tend to be the same. Not doubting you, as a teacher you may well be more informed than I am, and you may even have met more autistic people than I have. Just surprised. I cant speak for all autistic people, I could be a little different here, but I am the most difficult person you will ever meet to manipulate. You tell me the sky is blue, I will check it. I take nothing at face value and question literally everything. I also need to understand things to a minute detail. And I mean everything I come across pretty much. Pulling the wool over my eyes is very hard! If you are full of BS, I will smell it before anyone! However, I agree with the hate speech thing. Many autistic people deal in facts only and have no time for or understanding of this PC nonsense. Facts are facts ,whether they offend or not is something else. Whatever it is, speaking straight facts should not be an offence whether someone is autistic or not. For many of us, the only way a conversation can be arousing or engaging is if we are talking about facts in a very straight fashion. Too much fluff and social chit chat will make many of us switch off, and here is the problem. An intelligent autistic person is going to spend their lives offending people or being very bored. That was already a tough choice. Now the choice may be more grave. Speak as you find and pay the price, or dont speak at all. What a choice!

My former partner of 20+ years is autistic (we're still best friends). There was one moment when this manifested itself many years ago which still tickles me. It was Sunday lunch at my family's house when conversation somehow veered off the rails into the subject of religion. My mother, a devout Catholic and adorer of the white Jesus Christ (you know, the one with the long blonde hair and blue eyes) was espousing the wonderment of Our Lord, when my girlfriend, a graduate in history and English from the very posh King Alfred's College in Winchester, uttered in a completely innocent tone of voice, "But Jesus was a terrorist." My mom's eyes went as wide as the dinner plates we were eating off, and I laughed so hard that I nearly spluttered out my mouthful of cabbage. Donkeys' years later in conversation with my ex I still randomly drop in, "Jesus was a terrorist," to which she rolls her eyes and groans, "Don't." Remembering it, I'm even smiling as I type. But on a more serious note, you're right; there is the danger of autistic people inadvertantly getting themselves into bother when there is sometimes a lack of social filter.

I simply said that that there was little evidence of creation and no evidence of lack of creation. So strong belief either way is faith based and illogical. To someone like me, any other conclusion is incorrect. There is a lack of evidence either way to be certain enough to conclude anything. Most of the time now I just sit there not wanting to open my mouth. Because someone will be offended by something I say and especially the way I say it. Not getting any better by the looks. @tlrlml
@tlrlml Жыл бұрын
@@eternalemperorvalkorion750 Yes, the area of the spectrum where you have no adverse effects is ... drum roll ... being anywhere on the spectrum. Sorry, to disappoint you but autism is as much a 'spectrum' as 'not-autism' is a spectrum. Your sentence fragment, '...because there’s a area of the spectrum where your not really adversely affected instead...', makes as mush sense for autism as it makes if we were talking about allism... none! The 'spectrum', and it's sole application to autism, is allistic propaganda. Propaganda, in the same sense that; The inability to speak/muteness is a autism, Lack of social interaction at age 6 months is autism, Any form of intellectual disability (regardless of cause) is autism, (etc.) are propaganda. Secondly; "... your essentially just a person with more robotic programming like a Star Trek Vulcan." - More propaganda! We are not helplessly programmed robots! We are Human beings in every sense of that word, and with every right to be, and express, ourselves as any allistic has! "We have a need for logical reason to answers and rules..." _We_ have different brain development and structure. Our brains process data differently then allistic brains. This _does not_ make us, in anyway, robotic, or comparable to programmable computers. Our sense of balanced is not on our social interactions or emotions, but, on our logic and knowledge... and this still does not make us less Human and more robotic. It *_is_* robotic, however to take what others people say and think about you, as if they are greater experts on what makes you, you, then you are! Thirdly; "...more robotic emotional nature/ lack of empathy means you won’t even submit to their logic out of pity." - Autistics possess every emotion that any allistic possesses, our brains process input/output differently - as I already said! 'Lack of Empathy' *_IS NOT_* an autistic trait, it is a Cluster B trait! It is an allistic trait - Sympathy is not Empathy!!! Pity is emotion, not empathy!!! I won't question if you're autistic, but if you are, you must be to young to have figured these things out on your own, or you drank way to much propaganda kool-aid when you were that young!

I'm on the autism spectrum too. I've pretty much tuned out from the world. As crazy as it may sound, the pandemic was sort of blessing in disguise for me. Since there was no/barely any people around, I started going out a lot more. Now that things have gone back to "normal", I've gone back to my reclusive ways. Everyone's so wrapped up in the culture wars. I've been a part of it (on both sides) and I'm tired of it. How long is this sh!t going to go on for? When are people going to say "Yeah, I feel like this identity politics stuff has been going on long enough"?. When will people put their differences aside and act like normal human beings towards each other again? I grew up in the late 90's-2000's and people weren't anywhere near as uptight back then as they are today. They didn't try to fit you into some category when they met you. They treated you like an individual rather trying to figure out if you're a member of some allied or opposing tribe. This tribalism is a clear representation of how intellectually stunted our society has become over the past decade. People are literally returning to monke.

You can call Police anything you want, as long no members of the public make a complaint about it. Some Police officers don't understand that fact, so make false arrests, and the force ends up having to pay compensation for their clueless officers. This cop who made the false arrest is still working somehow, as today she appeared on a video with 20+ Police vehicles arrived to arrest 1 girl. All the offices were calm, except for Lesbian Nana Cop who was running around screaming at calm people (simply watching the 6+ cops make the arrest from a distance) to "Get Back" while waving pepper spray around, and even spraying a couple of them. Sometimes even the chiefs and inspectors make false arrests, just like one I saw on an update video yesterday from an arrest 18 months ago, where they falsely arrested 2 people, for walking across an open and public car Police Headquarters car park, and looking at some memorials, which were placed outside the reception. They had been there for just a couple of minutes, when it took the chiefs and inspectors who walked over just 36 seconds to make the false arrests. They also assaulted one of the victims by slamming him into the booking in desk, which always have CCTV... Yet they claimed the CCTV wasn't working, and none of them were wearing bodycams. They also put up an illegal "Trespassers Will Be Prosecuted" sign after the fact, which wasn't there at the beginning, and has now been covered up, as it's public property. Plus they've now put up gates and fences to stop the public entering the public property which we pay for, which proves they know it was open for anyone to walk through to begin with. However the 2 victims are now getting a minimum of £4000 each, even without proof of the blatant assault from the chiefs and the inspectors.

In the US, all corporations give mandatory trainings to their employees. One of the main takeaways I got from the training is that if the recipient of the statement or *-anyone within earshot, who happens to feel offended-* by what they have heard, can file a sexual harassment complaint. In other (non-sexually) harassment guidelines, a person cannot comment that their co-worker's lunch smells "funny", "weird" or "strong", because those comments are *_offensive_* even if they are lighthearted and made in jest. This all changed in theast 10 years or so. When I was working in the early 90s, guys sometimes had porno pics on their huge computer monitors, but no one complained then. The policies have done a complete 180 since then and are so rigid, that a man cannot pay a compliment (non-sexually, non -flirting) to a woman, without being in jeopardy of being accused of harassment. Everyone here is tense and on guard. 🧐
