Comedian on the silencing of Russell Brand

I didn't believe the allegations against Russell Brand were part of a deep state attempt to silence him. I still don't believe that. But the state have leapt at this chance to try and silence his voice, as evidenced by the letter from Caroline Dinenage to Rumble and TikTok to remove Russell's monetisation.
I'm not saying Russell is innocent - but he deserves a chance to clear his name in court. And regardless of the allegations, the way the state is exploiting them to shut him down is very disturbing.
Caroline Dinenage is the wife of a former chief in the 77th Brigade, a controversial army unit tasked with "disinformation".

A lot of people don't seem to be able to both connect and differentiate between the various levels of this controversy - the question of Brand's guilt or innocence, the fact that he has not yet (as of when I write this) been charged with anything, the over-dramatized nature of the Channel 4 programme and the MSM smear campaign that has followed it (I am loath to call it co-ordinated - it could more reasonably be seen as different media entities piling on in a virtue-signalling exercise), the blatant (and ham-fisted) attempt by Dinenage to interfere with Brand's earning an income (and thus his potential ability to mount a legal defence), and the connection between Dinenage and the UK military psy-ops group. Thanks for a great attempt at breaking down some of it.

I have seen the documentary and read many articles about this case. Why do you assume I hadn't? I actually believe he has a case to answer, but has the coverage made a fair trial impossible? This is now in question, which means that if guilty, he could walk away, thus denying justice to any victims, and if innocent, he has been smeared by a media who actively and knowingly encouraged him for years. Brand himself has traditionally been left wing, but the themes of his podcast have steadily moved in the direction of right-wing (as in Republican, not far-right) American content like Joe Rogan’s. Bear in mind that Trump himself was a populist institutional wrecking ball, who played down Covid risks etc; Brand’s content increasingly appeals to the same people. You're right that these are two separate issues. If Brand goes through a court case and is found guilty, then it's right that he face the consequences. Likewise if he is found not guilty, so be it. But this is outright sinister. Caroline Dinenage contacted both Rumble and GB news to put pressure on them to essentially deplatform a British subject who at time of writing, it not guilty of any crime. For that alone I want her out of any position of power, because she's dangerous. As for her husband and the 77 - I don't know how deep that goes, but it's already too deep for my liking. Regardless of Brand's innocence or guilt, this issue has blown up to something far greater.

With a pretty relentless media campaign coupled with Dinenage essentially slapping a Government "Guilty" stamp on the entire affair, how do you find an unbiased jury? Even if that's managed, and he gets a not-guilty verdict, he's already paid a price for this in terms of getting dropped by his agent, being demonetised, etc. All of this has come long before he's had a day in court, and frankly, before he's even been charged with a crime. It's utterly backwards, and frankly it stinks.

I don't think so. If the allegations were true and their priority was to obtain justice then why would they shoot themselves in the foot by conspiring to cancel Brand before the conviction? If they had solid evidnce and an iron tight case then going to the police and getting the conviction makes the most sense. However if the priority is to smear and cancel Brand then this course of action fits much better.

I'm actually surprised it took them so long to have a go at him. The thing about Russell Brand is that he's never hidden the 'skeletons in his closet' so I don't believe what's been said. If these women even exist, it sounds like "buyers remorse" to me - let's face it, everybody knew what ne was like back in the day, with the drugs and the s3x addiction and party animal behaviour, so I'm pretty sure any woman hanging around with him was not there to look at watercolour paintings. But that's all for the court to find out, not for us to judge. Of course, giving him a fair trial is now near impossible because of the smear campaign.

I doubt Brand will be charged with any crime. This would require some evidence that would stand up to cross-examination in court and, I sppose, some witnesses to the alleged events. Establishing what amounts to an alternative or parallel system of 'justice', without the need for due process and a fair trial, is extremely worrying.

Just watched BBC news there at 8am Saturday morning and the 2nd story is Russell Brand releasing a video where he criticised the government and social media. And in this prerecorded segment that is played each hour, at the end the BBC journalist says " the BBC as asked Brand to speak to us but he hasn't responded as he would rather go direct to his followers than face outside scrutiny. Now, apart from the obvious aggressive nature of the BBCs wording at the end, on what planet is that type of reporting impartial? Brand doesn't want to talk to you because " he wants to avoid outside scrutiny " ? That is absolutely combative language from the BBC who clearly doesn't like Brand and perhaps the reason he doesn't want to talk to you because of shit like this and the way you are reporting. The man has been charged or convicted of nothing. If these woman who have made the accusations turned down the bbc for an interview do you think the bbc would report that the woman was trying to avoid outside scrutiny? Of course the wouldn't. Neil DeGrass Tyson was accused of sexual assault and unacceptable behaviour towards woman a few years ago during Metoo , he was never charged and i don't see his social media being cut. Its the hypocrisy that people can't stand. Look at the accusations and charges that the actors who plays The Flash is facing, the trans fellow. He's still paid on social media and hes still in the Justice league franchise. Calling people far right conspiracy theorists doesn't work anymore because people can see with their own eyes the double standards and the selective seriousness of these things. I dont know what Brand did but i kniw he is being treated differently because of his views. I totally agree, innocent until proven guilty. I also believe that the women making these claims should not be demonised. This is why so many woman are scared to report SA because they have for so long not been believed. People don’t demonise children for not reporting abuse, we accept they are scared, why can’t we accept the same for women. Everybody stop talking about RB and let due process be followed.
