The narrators are actually not given a script. They’re given a historical person/situation/whatever well in advance, articles on the subject and time to do their own research. That’s why it’s so absurdly rambling. And amazing. And also why the first seasons (and mostly still) they chose comedians to do it, since they have a knack for what’s fun, storytelling and timing.

I imagine her wearing them with men’s trousers, although she doesn’t seem to have been called “Trouser Mag.” “Sadie the Goat” was a legendary character along the Hudson, although there’s some debate about whether or not she was a real person. By the way, her male accomplice was said to knock out their victims with a slungshot, not a slingshot. A slungshot is a rope with a weighted end, used by sailors to throw lines. It can be used as a weapon in the manner of a blackjack.
