I’m driving to an AA meeting right now, listening to Joe Rogan talk about Bert and completely agreeing. Then I think about how annoying Joe Rogan is when he drinks, especially when you see him drunk on kill Tony and he seems like the only person in the room who doesn’t realize how annoying he’s being. Also, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Tom deep down doesn’t really mind Bert drinking that much. Even with all his success, it’s not hard to see that Tom is a pretty insecure man and likes to have that friend who doesn’t have his shit together because it makes him look better and/or allows them to not really focus on himself. If I was Bert’s best friend, starting an alcohol company with him would be a nightmare in my mind.

Then met Rogan, who convinced him to do stand up and he’s only famous for that because of Rogan. And he’s still an alcoholic. In much the same way, Rogan lucked his way to the top. Given a development deal by Disney when he was like 23. Then went into tv, did a couple of sitcoms where he always played the dumb ass, then did a show where people drink donkey spunk for years. Just happened to start commentating for the ufc in the late 90’s, whose success has nothing to do with Rogan. Then started this podcast which became huge for some reason. And his stand up comedy is still terrible. He’s funnier by accident on the podcast more than he is on purpose. It makes me laugh when he talks about people needing adversity in their lives, when he hasn’t had any real adversity himself since he was in his 20’s and most of his successes have been handed to him on a silver platter. This is why I also laugh when people say “you make your own luck”. 😂 Urm, no. There is just people that get incredibly fortunate with everything they do and some people that no matter what they do it always fails. My brother ended up committing crimes, ended up in prison, eventually dying at the age of 52. I watched as my parents descended into this horrible disease. I picked up my father MANY times at the bar, because they called me to come get him. The drinking caused my parents to divorce. No one walked away from this, undamaged. I haven't had a drink for 30 years, I don't miss it. Enjoy your 20s, have some fun, UBER is AWESOME. When you hit your 30s, it's time to settle down, find a person to share your life with, have a couple of kids. Life is AWESOME when you are sober to watch your children grow up, and even BETTER, when you watch your kids raise THEIR kids going through the same thing. This is what life is truly about. I’m surprised Bert doesn’t have wet brain yet. If not it’ll be coming soon it was sad af when my dad got wet brain he couldn’t hold a conversation he’d just keep repeating himself or remember what we were talking about just circles and circles and then he wasn’t supposed to drink but still did and died. I’m sure Bert’s kids feel the way I did at the time.

This sounds like Bert is in stage 4 liver failure. My uncle just died from it, and he was told at the hospital that while he could buy some more time if he stopped drinking, he was still gonna die from it. He was also the same age as bert.

Saying Bert is an adult and can control his own life is a bit of an exaggeration. He's the eternal frat boy with no control over his addiction. His friends and wife act like his caretakers. Never known such a person with zero talent get so lucky in life.

Brendan Schaub and countless other hack comedians are in the same boat as Burt. It's Rogan's fault, he made all these losers famous and convinced them to start podcasts.

He’s getting less functional recently. Just getting obliterated and then taking a mid day nap to start drinking all over again. If he can’t sleep off the morning drunk…he’s a disaster.

It makes no sense at all! I understand Rogan offers exposure and even as a shitty comic, w/comedy being the weakest of his skills, Rogan became the voice of comedy for a while and basically handed Bert and Tony and Schultz etc. careers.......yet it's one thing to push someone and give them exposure, .....but eventually these ppl actually have to sit through some hacky, low level effort and they stick w/these guys!!?! It speaks to the absolute truth that most people are dim sheep, who offer allegiance where they see the herd going!
