Yes sir. Cake in hand and ready to get stuck in. This looks dope bro. It'll take me 8 re-watches to fully get this but it's worth it.

Very cool, I created a popup-book in C4D for a car commercial, it would be so cool to be able bring it into UE and update it! Thanks for sharing!

I did something similar for a show open a few years ago I should do the same cause it was a pain going back n forth with cinema and after effects

I been importing ABC files into Unreal lately and I thought it was just me about the materials not coming over. Anyway, one thing I found is if you collapse the ABC into one object, the UVs come over perfectly, but if you say.. brought in your pages as an ABC with multiple objects inside, the UVs get messed up. Anyway, great tutorial as usual. Thank you!

@davidkerman1732 yea I've found no perfect solution when it comes to alembic, someone told me it was n cinema issue but I don't know maya or houdini enough to test that theory out

Would this still work using "Direct Link"?
@JonathanWinbush5 күн бұрын
I'm not sure, I've had too many issues lately with direct link so since I was doing client work I opted to go with what I know would for sure work. I found that FBX or Alembic are the best route still.

Maybe a dumb question, but why not keep in C4d for entire project?
@JonathanWinbush4 күн бұрын
@barkingsheltie not dumb at all, world building in unreal is to me 100x faster and better and I can render it all in like 10 seconds even at 4k.

@@JonathanWinbush thanks 😎so use c4d for types of animations or effects that are difficult to do in Unreal? Unreal ray-tracing is super fast, I understand, compared to RS, etc? Would you say good enough, or do u still occasionally complete in Cinema? I’m about to go and watch all of your unreal tuts. I have watched many of your c4d and enjoyed and appreciated them 😎
@JonathanWinbush4 күн бұрын
@@barkingsheltie Honestly I'd say for what I do I complete 95% of my renders in Unreal. The only time I really render with Redshift is if I'm working on a title card for like a movie trailer and I just need to do 3D Text then its just faster to keep that all in cinema for the most part but with the recent updates with fonts in unreal I might not even do text in cinema anymore.
