When I was 16yr I used to read manga like one piece , toriko , fma and berserk back then I didn't care much about comics until I decided to give it a shot to see if I liked it my first comic was Hellboy and it became my fav and then I started enjoying comics more that manga but just because i like comics more doesn't mean they better they both equally amazing In my opinion

Valid video, i aint really a comic reader and im mostly a manga reader, but getting into manga and especially deeper stories, i look back on things and realize, my hero has a really sloppy story, jjk has a sloppy, and in my opinion, bad story😭😭 which is obviously my opinion, but then everytime i look at comics as an outside observer, i never see anything worth my time in the space, its all episodic slop that gets redone and remade with no substance or reason, and thats why things like invincible and the boys will, in my opinion, stand the test of time better than traditional comic stories like secret wars or civil war will, or just be more relevent in pop culture, iv never heard about anyone really talk about comic runs outside of people who are dedicated to it, or make references to it, but manga theres thousands of people who are referencing it all the time Ion wanna TRASH comics, but, i just havent really seen any stories that even look interesting from an outsider perspective, and it feels like alot of people agree, plus manga has better paneling😭 Just my opinion tho gang W video

Awesome video with a great message. I whole-heartedly agree with most of your points. As for the whole "are comics or manga better" debate, I honestly don't care about it whatsoever. Both manga and comics are great mediums with their own strenghts and weaknesses and no one has the right to tell me what I can or can't enjoy. I like things a lot of people online have the consensus of being bad like Spider-Man 3, Teen Titans Go!, Fairy Tail, Stranger Things or that ugly CGI Spider-Man comic and I don't care whatsoever about other people's opinions of them. I can like whatever and it's not like most people outside the internet haters will really get angry and defensive or hate me over my enjoyment of something they don't. You don't like or understand something? Fine but don't jump at me for enjoying things the internet deemed as bad for no good reason, I mean I saw a youtuber get driven to giving up on their youtube channel after saying he liked that hated Velma show and made two videos on the topicand I think that's just going too far with this so.... Here's a lesson for everyone to learn: Like, enjoy and love whatever you want. Don't let some internet haters and trolls get to you and stop you from enjoying the stuff you do because I guarantee you that no one outside the internet will care about what you enjoy and if people outside the internet do then that's their problem not yours. You can enjoy everything you want, no one will do anything to you if you like X or Y thing, their words shouldn't make you no longer enjoy something that you do.

I have never read comics but I love manga and one of the reasons is that it's hard to get into comics like there are so many goddamn versions of comics it's confusing. I want to read comics but I just can't get into the whole multiverse concept.

That's one of the biggest criticism and challenge of getting into comics. I recommend looking up the best stories for a character you are interested in and reading from there.

where can I do that, like for manga you have MyAnimeList and AniList to know which mangas are good but theirs no such thing for comics. If you know any then could pls tell me their names I tried finding but the websites were outdated.

I accidentally clicked on this and someone who's never been into western comics because I live on the other side of the world, finding all the same characters being just rehashed over the years doesn't make me want to read about them. The barrier of entry feels really high. I feel like there would be inside jokes and continuity that would have bled into any of the new iterations that I as a newbie wouldn't be able to understand the context of. As opposed to say, Full Metal Alchemist which has a definite beginning and a definite end.

Tbh, they are being rehashed less then you think, dc from 2016 until now is a very different place, characters have evolved

Because each new iteration of it all, every multiverse jump, feels like fanfiction made official...what if we take the characters everyone and their senile grandfather knows and put them in a newer setting, one with smartphones. Kinda like Pride and Prejudice with Zombies.

@@CrimsonMey i mean you don't have to read every comic book, just find a run of a writer and a character and you get a complete experience, some character have a last story like old man logan or last ronin if you want closure but its about enjoying the stories no need to put rules on art/storytelling
