I like that aspect because it's more in line with the traditional nature of the actual Norse Gods. Right or wrong there will always be a price to pay for trifling with them. Hence Loki giving Blake the same punishment he got crowning him the new god of lies. I personally enjoy seeing this side of the Gods.

Agreed, this story is beyond silly, especially the way Thor treated Odin, as if Odin was acting with some sort of malice.
@danielseelye60053 жыл бұрын
@@patricklacey4946 Not malice, indifference. He created a living _sapient_ being and used him as a mere tool for his true born son to _learn a lesson._ He then cast him away and didn't give any thought to helping him out at least rewarding him with a good life afterwards for a job well done. Thor was seeing this as yet another example of the callousness Odin Borson wielded like Gungnir coming back to hurt everyone else. As for Thor's treatment of Odin, it fits as Thor was now able to see his father on a more even level, no longer on his pedestal with the Odinforce. He saw him as a man, and no longer on his father's shadow.

@danielseelye60053 жыл бұрын
This was a bit weird for me, as I was under the impression that Donald Blake was a human that Odin has chosen as the vessel Thor would be housed in and see the world through Blake's eyes. The idea of Blake being _created_ by Odin _specifically_ for Thor really changes things, especially with how Blake was messed with like by Amora after "Siege" and cast aside story-wise. It's so good seeing Thor *finally* taking the mantle of King for longer than a few issues or having it be retconned out like they did for setting up "Thor Disassembled". Seeing Thor go through all the effort of bringing Asgard to Earth only to run away and let Baldur run it, seeing it be rebuilt into Asgardia only to see it be run by the Triple Goddess, it's been a while I'll admit but it's so damn good to see _Point Break_ take the mantle and set the stage for his older self in the "Gorr the God Butcher" series. As for Bill and Sif: Drop her ass! I don't want her getting with him after the way she did my Thorse dirty in the last story. She don't deserve him, and that's coming from a guy that sympathized with her for all the crap Odinson put her through for all the years he chased after Jane Foster.

It seems like Marvel has no intention of restoring Odom back to his former pre-Aaron era self for a good long while. I'll accept that for now, but I wish they'd not make him a punching bag for everyone. Rather than see him turning into a washed up unworthy Odin, I'd like to see him reestablish himself as something greater beyond simply being the former king of Asgard and former wielder of the Odin Force. He has the knowledge of the runes, the wisdom from the well of mimir, the magic of poetry, the cunning to achieve great things, and an inherent connection to Yggdrasil. But that's just me.
