When the writers want to be... they can make Scarecrow into a pretty genius criminal Mastermind, this was one of those times. That was a brilliant plan on Crane's part

It sounds like this story took part of its inspiration from a real life case. There was a man who went to have exploratory surgery named Sherman Sizeman and was given the anesthetic that paralyzed him but did not put him to sleep. Once the surgical team realized he was actually still awake and feeling every bit of the procedure they finally put him completely under several minutes into the surgery. They gave him a drug to make him forget about it but he was so traumatized that his subconscious knew what something terrible had happened. After days of terrible PTSD he took his own life.

Laughing at the suffering of others doesn't make you a villain Rob. The German word for it is Schadenfreude.The definition is the experience of pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction that comes from learning of or witnessing the troubles, failures, pain, suffering, or humiliation of another. It is a borrowed word from German; the English word for it is epicaricacy, which originated in the 18th century.

Gotham finally realized Batman has been unhinged and mentally unstable for decades...
@SleepyJoe-sz5wn3 ай бұрын
Bro I've been saying for years this man does not need to be a superhero...he needs therapy. Bro hasn't made any tangible improvements to Gotham in decades. This is also why I can't take "prep-timers" seriously, they tell me he can defeat Jesus with prep time but he can't even keep his own rouge gallery locked up for any significant amount of time.
@Mr_Edward_Nigma3 ай бұрын
@@SleepyJoe-sz5wnwhile I can understand your point I believe you missed some points: 1: Batman’s job is to ensure the criminals of Gotham are taken to black gate or the asylum, he is not in charge of what’ll happen in there, that’s the commissioner’s job, and despite the fact that WE KNOW the asylum is corrupt in most versions BATMAN doesn’t know that because he’s a flawed character. 2: as I just said before Batman IS a flawed character a proper person WOULD most likely get therapy however Batman is not a proper person, he is a man that has been traumatized with the death of his parents at a young age. And 3: while I’ll admit a large amount of time the prep time is definitely BS, when writers actually get the point of prep time/don’t go overboard of it, it will most likely work in a way that’s believable.
@MP-db9sw3 ай бұрын
@KamalaGonBreakUrBoi- nothing Batman can do will ever clean up Gotham, not because he is incapable or too irrational to do it but because if he succeeds then theres no need for him to be Batman, anymore. The writers will keep finding new ways to ruin Gotham as long as we, the readers keep coming back to the stories. So its really not Batmans fault that Gotham is a hell hole, its ours.

This kind of makes the whole Arkham Knight storyline come into question. Sure Batman hallucinates all throughout the game but there are so many parts of the storyline where you question when he isn't hallucinating. Hell, you could find cracks in the "reality" of the entirety of Batmans career. Poison Ivy has been involved in Batman combating Scarecrows fear toxins many times and the fact this aspect keeps getting revisited makes me wonder how much of what we know ever even happened.

Sorry but this feels like a scheme that Mad Hatter should be pulling off considering it does have to do with a variant of mind control and mental conditioning. This doesn't directly tie into messing with people's fears so I'm kinda surprised Scarecrow is taking point. I guess because he has a lot more capital on his name post Arkham Knight but even then, it's still Hatter's Mind Control Motif. Heck this whole premise kinda feels like a parody of the dream world he trapped Bruce in where his parents were alive and he was engaged with Selena but he couldn't read books which helped him realize he was in a dream.
