(That's one reason why Odysseus was one of her personal favorites.) Ares was brute force and violence in action. If he was been made into a clever thinker, then they greatly re-worked his story.

I think you did a great job, cold and all. Wonder Woman's new origin is really cool, but I do hope that she'll get to go back some day. As for Diana's strength in comparison to Superman - in the original, her strength was tied to Gaia and so I've always figured that she would be stronger when on the ground, but weaker when flying. That creates a juxtaposition between the two, a way for them to be equal-but-different.

Oh my god, this is one of the best videos from you that I've seen in a while. Even if you say you're recovering from being sick, just hearing all this info and basically getting a history lesson on one of the most important superheroes of all time, it's all just excellent. I have not been reading the new Wonder Woman comics, but I clearly feel like I've been missing out. None of your videos have made me want to go and immediately buy the comics like this video has. One thing I adore about Rebirth right now is even the paneling is absurdly stylized and fun, especially with the members of The Trinity. They've all got these fun action shots that work in their logos in the panels and so on and it's a joy to look at.

People get angry about the movies because it ruins the continuity, when in reality, they are just angry because the comics had better stories than the movies could possibly show without rewriting too much against what they liked about the original. If WW goal is to stop the perpetual nature of war, and after learning from Extra Credits(if their explanation was legit) on how WW1 got started, then I must say Ares was at his strongest to pull it off.

So Barbara Minerva essentially replaces Julia Kapatelis from George Perez's post-Crisis origin. While considerably different, it does clearly pay some homage to that version of the story. Ares as the primary antagonist. Diana's inexperience. In one aspect, it's better in that she didn't receive her powers until after the contest. She had them from birth in Perez' origin, which really made the contest a waste of time.
