I recall the loud cheering when the guy on the bridge shouts at the Goblin, who is attacking Spidey as he is holding the lift car, "This is New York. You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!" and again the cheers at the end when Spidey flips up to the top of the Empire State Building with Old Glory fluttering behind him. I've always wondered if those scenes were added specifically because of 9/11.

21+ years ago, I went to see this, this exact day, while looking for part time work. I was a full time musician, but of course, that paid no bills. The general manager was a fan of my band, and agreed to let me work there as time allowed. That started 9+ years of meeting many the people who would shape my life as I eventually worked up to be the general manager, return to and graduate college, meet and marry my 1st wife, and be introduced to my current wife with which I have 2 kids. Many of my dearest memories, happiest times, best friends, and my literal family I owe to going to see this movie and thinking to ask if they needed help (it was insanely busy and they were getting their asses kicked). Totally wild to see it screening on THAT DAY, knowing how my life was about to change dramatically.

In 2002, a legend was born. In 2021, (hopefully) he’ll return. And I have been getting a lot of spoilers in the comment section hour by hour, day by day. I eventually went and saw the movie. I had to at least wait a week until the majority of the people saw it so for those who keep telling me I spoiled it for them, it’s your fault first of all for not going and buying a ticket. I’m sure they’re still selling them. And another, I don’t know how many of you are on social media. I don’t know how many of you can’t stay off cause you’re addicted to it but the least you can do is stay off until you watch the movie so technically, it’s not my fault, it’s yours.

Okay, found an important detail at 4:22 which proves beyond a reasonable doubt his footage is real. You see that black dot, in the top right corner? That’s a reel change marker. Those are to signal to a projectionist that the current reel of film is ending, and that they need to start playing the next reel. That means this footage was projected on film, and not a recording of someone’s TV. Most of the fakers on YT don’t even bother with details that specific, as going to the effort to actually rip a disc and add that detail then play it on a TV is a massive hassle. So that more or less indicates this footage is probably real, and not altered or doctored. (Also commented this on another video, because it was a re-upload of this same footage)

I lived in the Dominican Republic back then and even me as a 7 year old in the DR it was impossible to get tickets to go watch spiderman. They sold out every movie theather of the region and even like 2 or 3 weeks after the theater was always packed to watch it. This was a global super hit. Historical movie and way better than the trash they make today

It’s amazing how much the audience is laughing and cheering; nowadays it’s almost always dead silence in a theater!

I was 7 years old when this came out, I remember lying to all my relatives that I haven’t seen it yet so they could keep taking me, I think I saw it in theaters like 5 times. I love this movie so much. Spider-Man is my favorite superhero of all time and this holds a special place in my heart. This movie was so huge when it came out too. It was everywhere and was talked about all the time. I dressed up as Spider-Man on the daily, played the video games, had all the toys and requested Burger King so I could collect the toys from there. Hell I even remember eating that limited time cereal that came out with the movie. Anyone else remember when Blockbuster was having a sweepstakes to win an actual life sized Spider-Man model? What a trip that this was all 18 years ago. Thanks so much for the upload, excelsior!

agreed man! There is a massive v-stock store near my area that has one of those life-sized Spidermans! Crazy! Only one I've ever seen. That cereal also hit

probably because it’s an older movie. it’d be a waste of time to track down who recorded it
