Hi Historical Gamer! Just a tip: on the weapons allocation window, you can double-click on the "Nx can fire" green text to allocate one. I find it a lot quicker than setting the number and click the allocate button.

I believe (I await & welcome the corrections if I'm wrong) Hellfire was developed specifically for attack helo's to take out AFV's & as such it had to be light weight, you're expecting a 9kg HEAT warhead to fill the role of a bunker buster such as the Maverick which has a 57kg shaped charge warhead. Like your stuff by the way. (Edit) Just reviewed the Maverick in Wiki and the variant in game has a 136kg warhead with a unit cost of between $17k - $110k, most likely at the high end while the Hellfire has a unit cost of $117k .

I'm gonna get this, especially since I get 50% off as a CMANO owner. But, Overall, is it harder, easier ro about the same level of difficulty of CMANO? I've had CMANO for about 3 years now, and I'm still not fully sure how to play it.

I've played CMANO for years please play more of this so I can see whether or not to buy. Apparently owners of CMANO get 50% off this game

I can say its definitely worth it especially with the discount. There are many many improvements and performs better as well. Only thing I think is a pitty is that there is no new scenario content. Would have loved some scenario's illustrating the improved ground forces aspect.

FA-50 was developed by a Korean company as a cut down derivative of the F-16 with the cooperation of Lockheed. It started as a T-50 trainer aircraft then the FA-50 version added weapons options to make it a combat capable trainer. This allows weapons training on a less expensive platform than primary fighter aircraft. It can also be used in actual combat as a second line backup to the primary fighter and ground attack aircraft. It is also able to be used as a low capability but low cost primary fighter by poor countries. It is a limited but modern and high reliability option for countries that otherwise mostly use old obsolete aircraft with poor reliability. But, it's primary role is still training for most users. This aircraft was offered to the USAF to replace the T-38 Talon trainer aircraft and was rated as a strong entry because of the F-16 similarity, reasonable cost, and backing of Lockheed. Ultimately the Boeing/Saab entry beat out this Lockeed/KAI entry and the others. The Boeing/Saab aircraft is now known as the T-7 Red Hawk. One of the factors in this decision may have been that the flight controls in the T-7 are similar to the F-35. The FA-50 on the other hand retains controls similar to the F-16 which are fine but the F-16 is being phased out in the USAF. Red Hawks are an all new design but have some features derived from Hornet and Gripen fighters which lowered risk and reduced development time. A combat capable trainer version of the Red Hawk does not appear to be planned at this time and this was not part of the requirements for the competitive bid.

Interesting, thanks for the info! For whatever reason I've always had a soft spot for low cost light attack/fighters like the F-5, FA-50, and even the Chinese/Pakistan JF-17. Seems that market has dried up a bit since the end of the cold war. The F-5 got a lot of orders, but the F-16 and radar and systems upgrades for legacy Soviet stuff, along with low cost Mig-29 exports, has cannibalized a lot of the market that you would have assumed the JF-17, FA-50, could have had in replacing Cold War era designs.

You may have wanted to setup missions for your aircraft. Also you need an AEW mission to help protect your attack helos. AEW would allow you to direct your fighters. Also a tanker mission would be helpful in a 9 hour scenario. Also I'm not sure that your aircraft radar is on. You typically see a white cone indicating your radar coverage area. @45:50 you were wondering where the enemy missiles went. Did you check the island base you need to protect? Maybe they were surface to surface missiles. @46:00 I think the Hellfires don't have the penetration value to deal damage to hardened structures.

The specs for this game says dual core CPU required, quad recommended. Has anyone tried playing it without a dual-core CPU?

Actually, in starting hostilities, they are great. Starting and ending a fight, but not facing competent SAMs.

Judy Hopps try the tutorials first it takes a while to learn but I did it. I don’t have modern operations yet only command modern air naval operations and shifting sands and desert storm. But it is still a good game

DPRK KN-06 is less capable than S-300 overall. It appears to use a similar radar to the Russian S-300 or more likely the Chinese HQ-9 but uses North Korean trucks, launchers, and missiles. Each KN-06 launcher truck carries 2 or 3 missiles that are shorter and fatter than the missiles on the S-300 which typically carries 4. Detection range may be similar to or slightly less than S-300 but engagement range and probability of kill is probably considerably less.

Makes sense. I'd imagine if they're using mostly NK parts and designs to replicate a very high tech foreign piece it would not be up to the same standard, if for no other reason than limitations on the quality and quantity of the supply chain.
