Another great video Brian, must say I tend to take too deep a divot with my 54° SW as well as going soft on the shot like the 3/4 swing you mentioned. Time to head to the practice bunker!

In sand we must accelerate and to this Gary Player. said " first stand wide as you can, put your feets more in the sand and light the matches.What you think about that and can you explain more light the matches Thank you

Feeling with your feet is a good thing. Widening your stance puts you lower to the ground making it easier to hit undr the golf ball taking sand. Striking the match simply means let the club accelerate through the ball. Brian

Ok, went to the practice sand bunker tonight. By the time I left (100 or so balls) I was hitting 90% onto the green!!! Debbie was with me, struggling. Great video. The course i played last week had firm sand and i opened my 59 deg 3 times with horrible results. The only time i hit a decent sand shot was from a plugged lie and i closed my 55 degree with a punch shot. Great info that i will use because i playing same course this week. Thanks Brian as always

Hi Brian I ruined my score at weekend in two bunkers one on a par 3 ( I walked off with a 10) and a par 4 (10 again) where I played there is softish sand but a deep bunker, I play a 56 wedge for my sw would you recommend a 60 or a 64 for my situation?? My shots caught the lip each time I swung.

Oh no. I feel for you on those 2 holes. I am a huge fan of the 60 degree wedge. I think it would be s great option for you. If you have very steep bunkers a 64 would certainly be an advantage. In the right hands a 56 degree can do the job but well above average skill is needed. Give a 60 degree a go I say. I am sure you will get it out with one of those. fitzygolfpro thanks Brian, I changed my channel name I was Average Golfer92 before and I comment on a few of your vids and you always give great advice, I played my local courses at the weekend 109 on my par 69 and 111 at the course with the bunkers, I've been playing 8 months now and I love it just wish I could score a bit better.

+On Par With James And Steven Breaking that 100 barrier is quite difficult at first. But if you go about it logically it's pretty easy. 1. Avoid bunkers like the plague 2. Chip with your hybrid or 5 wood and stay away from wedges of any type. 3. Concentrate on pitch shots from around 30m. Just get them on to the putting surface. 4. Work on your putting from 15 feet (5m) to 45 feet (15m) 5. Basic game plan is 9 bogeys and 9 double bogeys. 27 over par = 96 6. Try to be on the 9 shortest holes so you are putting for a par. Try to be on the 9 hardest holes so that you are putting for a bogey. 7. Leave the driver in the bag and hit your favorite club even if it's a 7 iron. If you can hit 110m you will be on every long par 4 for 4 shots and the longest par 5 for 4 shots. 2 putt and the worst score you can have is a double bogey. If you can follow these steps you should be able to break 100 easily. During the week work on the short game skills and see if you can learn to hit your driver on the fairway a little more often. Good luck with it all.

@@fitzygolfpro I had that shot last week. Not much sand and played the ball a bit too far back in my stance and flew the green. I went back and practiced the shot and put the ball more forward and put it next to the pin....I would definitely like to see a video on that particular shot.
