Hey Robert, just wanted to thank you for your channel and everything you do. I just got started a few months ago, I don't have many people to bounce questions off of locally, and between you and Dudley, I'm finding that nearly every question I have has been covered by one or both of you. Just really supremely thankful for what you're doing. Have a great year!

@@rcrchery awesome vids, I shoot left I tend to miss to the right, I guess I should check stance and draw length first? Also to be honest I need to check my anchor points, I find myself searching a bit to line the peep with the sight!

Congratulations on reaching this awesome milestone Robert ! Out of all the instructional videos, KZbin sites and so on, I find yours to be the most informative, detailed and helpful by far. A few times now, I've been watching your videos without any problem of my own in mind , and thaught " damn, that's why I've been having trouble" ! 😂 Keep up the great work mate , I'm very happy to become one of your first patreon tier 2 supporters! Cheers brother, Derek, Australia

Hey man, so I have a really good straight line till 70 yards. But for some reason right around 90-100 i group well together still, but they are all to the left all of a sudden. My bow is tuned and sight is setup well. Im convinced its a small change in form, but i just cant pin point why I’m grouping left at those long range shots.

I have 6 ounces on my front bar in 12 oz of my back. I always have trouble getting the pin up to the center. So I unconsciously jump upward when executing the shop what causes a high left Miss. I took front weight off prior to this problem. Not sure where I screwed up but I cannot get over trying to force the bow up in to the center and then jumping at Shot execution
@rcrchery
@rcrchery 5 жыл бұрын
You'll want to draw the bow with the bow hand up just above the bow shoulder and settle with it level or a tiny bit above the shoulder at anchor. Then make sure you're starting above the middle of the target at anchor and settle down to the middle. Keep the bow where it has a forward weight balance when you hold it. It should tilt forward in the hand. This will force you to pull into the back wall and hold the bow up and should help with consistency. If it doesn't, I'd look into some aiming drills. There's some written articles on them on my blog that can be found on my websites, www.rcrchery.com

Just got done watching, good info! Have a question though, unless your shot is built around a resistive stabilizer setup wouldnt too much front weight cause low misses? I feel like the average archer will have trouble with a heavy front stabilizer to combat low misses. I notice when I weight the front I find my front shoulder super fatigued and I lean back at the waste to fight it causing the bow to drop low. I also notice a lot of the top level guys with front heavy setups tend to hitch....
@rcrchery
@rcrchery 6 жыл бұрын
If you go too extreme on the front weight you can find yourself with the issues you mentioned for sure. There's a balance between front weight and how hard you're pulling into the stops. Get enough tension built up in the body from pulling and then enough front weight to support it and keep you from popping out high and it really calms down your float and hits on target.

Hey Robert, any help for us in the bow Hunter class with a shorter stabilizer setup?
@rcrchery
@rcrchery 6 жыл бұрын
If you're using a front and back bar you can still follow this process but on a smaller scale. You're looking for the slight forward weighting bias. If you're only using the front bar you'll set up weight until it's a little bit of a forward weighting balance that you can maintain good float with on target.

@@rcrchery thanks for the reply! That's what I figured since I am running a front and rear bar I just wasn't sure if the 1 front 2 rear rule was still applicable on that small of a scale or if you've found another ratio that works well. I've also heard (front weight x length) /rear length = rear weight

I can do my best. I haven't had access to anyone in a wheel chair enough to learn common misses for them and causes though. I'd need to do some more research first.
