Orion, I'm a psychoanalyst in New York in full-time practice. I'm always looking to integrate new models into how I conceptualize human relationships and enjoy taking in your perspectives. I just saw this discussion posted after its conclusion. I found The Value of Others quite provocative and compelling as to how to approach the economics of sexual relationships. Of the many questions your book inspired, I would like to start with this one: If 18 year-old women and 50-year old men are at their peak values in the marketplace, all other things equal, why don't you see more relationship pairings between individuals of these ages, or at least more, say 25 year-old women with 45 year-old men?

Societal taboos. Just look at the reactions to Leonardo DiCaprio dating under 25 year old models and the answer becomes obvious.

I'd venture you choose a partner more based on your stage of life and someone plus or minus a few years usually fits that description better. My theory is we choose more for "relevance" than anything else.

If you like Japan, you should also visit Taiwan. There's a lot of Japanese influence, but Taiwanese are more welcoming to outsiders, and more English is spoken. As a single, long term expat, the women in both countries are stunningly beautful, but Taiwanese woman are much more interested in meeting people outside of their culture.

Orion: On your thoughts about men vetting women, I think a good video you could do is on how men need to truly process past trauma whether with a woman or prior to selecting one. I will leave it to you to define what that looks like and how to best accomplish this. It has been my experience that many good men are not processing this to their own detriment.

i don't want someone outside of 5 or so years my age (although i tend to date older than myself) as we would very likely have different cultural references, and imbalances due to walking the earth at very different lengths. half of the men i've been in relationship with have been shorter than me. ok, i probably wouldn't want to be with someone who's 5'5" - i'm about 5'10". although height feels somewhat vain, there's something about size and feeling 'contained'. them being 'bigger' (healthily) even if not tall helps. and confidence. and i don't need someone more successful- just someone who can journey with me while maintaining their life and paying half the bills / doing half the housework or some sort of energy balance in those areas. i want someone who could take care of me at times, but won't need to. ♥️

Having a family can absolutely be compared to having a small business together. For men who want to be father, I would suggest to value virtues that make it easier to have a successful family. You can have lots of interesting friends, but you’re f with a woman who cannot run a household.

why not can two people be both the adorer and the adored? if they fit together like puzzle pieces, then they see qualities in the other that they value, and they in turn feel valued.

I'm a long time follower, and much appreciate your work! AND Please get more precise on your language with regard to "Love." The ancient Greeks were much more precise, with regard to the different kinds of "Love." Agape, is the self-giving kind of love you often reference, and would better be called that. Then, Eros, better called that. Then Sorge, family love. Then Philia, friendship love. Then sensuous love, as in "I love chocolate ice cream." Then, Romantic love -- did the Greeks even have a term for that? Then Limerance. Anyway, I'd think it would be much clearly to distinguish these various kinds of love, and maybe other kinds, with different defined words. Your audience can handle that!

Women don’t like sex as a generalization though of course there are exceptions like anything
@jonprince3237
@jonprince3237 17 сағат бұрын
They do, when the sex is good, and that's the significant qualifier. It takes a lot more to stimulate sexual desire in women compared to men, and the process of reaching climax is far more complex compared to men, and I say that as someobe with experience of both. If the sex is really satisfying for a woman, believe me, most will want it more often, but it's an uphill struggle for most men to make it really good, for a whole raft of reasons.

What about women and men in the third age, over 60? All the assumptions you made regarding situations between the ages of 20 and 45 change completely because of the different economic situation and also the hormonal situation. Women and men are no longer in a hormonal situation that seeks sexual contact as the main thing. Women and men are looking for a more meaningful relationship. It's time to talk a little about these ages

I would also like more from him on us older folks. He might want to consult with others who work with those in our age group (I am in my late 60s). I have a wonderful man in my life. Captains Quarters of Dr. O is for already high achieving ppl. If anyone here who are not there yet I encourage you too to have your own community.

my opinion is you have conflict of interest because your source of income depends on giving self motivation and advice for dating.....a simple advise "find a girl tell who you are the if she agree married and be Faithfull to her and marriage ..no extramarital affair ...if you find she is cheating the divorce her ...then again introspect find another girl married and be faithful.".. no casual sex , don't have multiple sextual partner " this advise help all men but you have bear the loss ...your all video regarding dating and women are not useful then.
