3:45 Fun fact about the folding brass knuckles: They are also incredibly stupid and would probably hurt you worse than your opponent. Real brass knuckles are braced against your palm. These folding ones are not, meaning your fingers would be forcefully pushed against the individual metal rings, which would be incredibly painful. If you were to punch with these at full force, you would probably break a finger.

Rizz has to be one of the least perplexing "youngin words." It's short for charisma.
@ibrahimihsan20904 ай бұрын
According to the one believed to have started the use of the word, it ain't. It may as well be gibberish.
@Excellsion4 ай бұрын
@ibrahimihsan2090 Well, in every context I have encountered it, it might as well be. Words settle into a definition, (until that definition changes like "gay" or "boner") and rizz has found its functional definition, regardless of what the creator intended.
@ibrahimihsan20904 ай бұрын
@@Excellsion You are never gonna call someone who speaks charismatically in politics someone who has "rizz" but will call someone who is apparently sexually charming is speech, mannerisms or physical appearance "someone with rizz". So I have to disagree. This may be a nitpick but if the one to start the term doesn't see it that way, he has to be disproven and that hasn't been the case as of yet. And other thing to note, if you look into their history, the words you gave as examples(gay, boner) can never be gibberish or made-up. "Rizz", unless proven to come from a previously used word with its own history, is a made-up word.
@Excellsion4 ай бұрын
@ibrahimihsan2090 Every word is made up when invented... Also, I didn't claim it was a term for professional settings or the like.
@ibrahimihsan20904 ай бұрын
@@ExcellsionNo proper etymology has been found for the term so you saying that it's short for charisma is in my opinion, incorrect. Only if a proper etymology for the term is found and connected to the word "charisma" can I be made wrong. Then you say it doesn't matter because it has the same effect so it technically is a short for charisma. That I don't see as true even in informal settings. It is mainly used in reference to seduction and wooing. In this case, "charisma" can be synonymous to "rizz" but that doesn't make "rizz" a short form of charisma. Synonyms aren't the same as cognates. We are talking etymology here, not how one's use of the term can give it different meanings. If Kai Cenat who started it didn't use it as a short for charisma, doesn't matter if that's how you use it because he started it and if he didn't use it as a short for charisma, then as a word that he invented, it isn't short for charisma unless he lied about its etymology. You saying it is is you giving it a new meaning and a new way of using it. If you still don't see it that way, then fine. To each his own.

@ryanjensen19453 ай бұрын
The fact that a fruit's name is derived from the French word for apple does not, in fact, make that fruit an apple. The French (like the Romans before them) tended to use 'apple' whenever they needed a name for a new fruit.
@Javalar3 ай бұрын
"pomegranate" is not French for "apple of seeds". It is a distortion of "pomme-grenade" (which is ironically "apple pomagranate"), which is a common name used for the fruit also simply known as "grenade", which is the fruit of the "grenadier". Considering potatoes are "ground apples" in French, it also would also mean that, according to your logic, if the photo had shown a bunch of rolling potatoes it would have been valid.

11:27 “Jungle” is a word derived from Sanskrit, and roughly translates to “uninhabited place”, specifically referring to certain areas in Northern India. The British used the term to refer to places like the Savanna. So the Lion is in-fact King of the Jungle, so long as the Jungle in question is the Savanna.

You're using an old definition, those don't really count anymore unless it's specifically meant to be old English. Reworded reply: I expect, based on a couple google searched, that you're using an old definition. I don't think those really count anymore unless it's specifically meant to be an older form of the English language.

@@voidbite “King of the Jungle”, as well as the word “Jungle” were terms created with modern English (English from the late 16th century onwards). The meaning of “Jungle” has changed over time, but the word itself is still from modern English.

@@kennethmoses4900 Sorry, I meant it as in 1950-2024 English. It seems old English is approximately before 1100, that's my mistake. I meant the definition, not the word. (I'll also reword my old reply a bit.)

1:28 the stupid thing here is, not only does Evolution not directly contradict most religions. The worst part by far is *that too many people do actually believe that* like a lot of people don't understand evolution at all. Whether they are Atheist or not. People who actually understand evolution wouldn't say that humans were once monkeys or heck even if they are slightly less dumb "apes" . Yet there's way too many people who actually say shit like that. Even having DNA in common doesn't mean much, you also have 70% (actually 40% but you get the point) DNA in common with a Banana that *does not mean humans were once bananas*
@williambarnes50234 ай бұрын
Humans not only were once monkeys, we still are monkeys today. The catarrhines are the down-nosed monkeys, which are monkeys whose noses point down like yours instead of forwards like a dog's. All humans are apes, all apes are catharrines, and all catharrines are monkeys. But we weren't once rhesus macaques or chimpanzees. Those are their own monkey.
@williambarnes50233 ай бұрын
@@rushningapixel1965The 70% of DNA that humans share with bananas is all about HOW TO BE MADE OF CELLS WITH A NUCLEUS. We share it with all other multicellular life. Humans are monkeys. We didn't just evolve from them, we still are them today. Human is a kind of ape, and ape is a kind of monkey. The type of monkey you are is a cattarhine, which means your nostrils points down instead of forwards like a dog.
@_burningshadow_80103 ай бұрын
@@rushningapixel1965 no I think it's 40% but that's still a ridicilous amount considering it's a fruit/plant and not even an animal. Pretty much all things have DNA in common, so it's not nessacerily the most reliable tool to figure things out, you can of course determine "how similair" something is to something else but even proofing two things have a common ancestor is difficult unless you have proof of that common ancestor and the steps both things took to "evolve/devolve/change" to get to the place where they are now.
@isavenewspapers88903 ай бұрын
Humans are part of the Hominidae family, thus classifying them as apes.
@_burningshadow_80103 ай бұрын
@@isavenewspapers8890 Yes which was classified by humans. Also that doesn't mean that much, we're also Mammals, so? Besides you know how many times we've gotten stuff wrong and then when the whole world already believed it as fact scientists be like: "oopsie". You shouldn't take it as fact but more as "current workable theory" or something like that. (although the family classification is "fine" because it doesn't nessacerily mean much although we've classified things wrong before) For example the assumption that our ancient ancestors were dumber/less intelligent than us has been proven wrong as well despite that assumption having been around for so long it's going to take ages for people to "catch up" with science. Besides the easy "confusion" is that we call apes "apes" but also the family "apes". Which confuses a lot of people because they won't think of it as "genetic family apes" they will think "actual" apes. Which despite being part of the same Family humans have never been those kind of "Apes" they certainly aren't part of the same Branch and even the common ancestor hasn't really been proven and multiple has been prove "falsly" by a skull that ended up just being from one of the branches and not from a common ancestor. (as far as we know these branches have been separate for an unknown amount of time) It's be like if we called the Canidae family "dogs." it's not nessacerily "wrong" but it's obvious how it can cause confusion if a Wolf is "Dog." You'd be using the same word for 2 different things which we are very much doing with "apes" heck the word "monkey" *doesn't even exist in my language* So Monkeys are also just referred to as Apes. As a matter of fact it's kind of the reverse problem because we refer to "Gorrila's, Chimpanzees, Urangatangs etc." as "Human-apes" it's a bit better imo, but the best solution is a separate word at least for the order name we just use "primate"
