"We're very good at cheating" speaks to me deeply. When I was doing dance 5 days a week, I could get away with faking it because I had enough general muscle tone to keep things mostly in place. Now that I no longer have that, faking hurts more. It always looks like I have good posture, but that's simply because my spine slouches into sideways S's instead of forward and backward. And just looking at how flexible and seemingly strong my legs are belies how it feels like my hips aren't screwed in correctly. I recently found your channel through one of your old videos on shoulders and lying on the ground with a towel under one shoulder blade while only doing vertical forearms while listening to the rest of the video has done more in that half hour than the many chiropractic and osteopathic consultations I've attempted. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and I look forward to watching more of your videos as I try to rebuild my strength.

Currently just starting with a new physio... terrifying, but hopefully things work out! Thanks for this video! I have a tendency to overwork myself because of the fear of becoming even more deconditioned and because of my past as a competitive athlete. Soft is the new strong is such a good mantra when my mind is telling me to push myself even though that will probably result in more pain! Thank you!

hey, i've recently been diagnosed with hEDS (after a lot of time fighting for the diagnosis) and was recommended your channel. your content has been a great place for me to start figuring out ways of better managing and addressing my pain. one thing i'm wondering if you could speak about is mobility aids with hypermobility.

I’m so glad you were recommended my channel. In the myths, I do talk about using braces and aids. Let me know what you were looking for.

@@JeannieDiBonHypermobility i am specifically wondering if you talk about mobility aids like canes, crutches, wheelchairs and the like.
@JeannieDiBonHypermobility7 ай бұрын

I'm a new subscriber, my mom recently diagnosed with CCI cant move too much and need always neck brace, what exercises would be best for her, ah she also have pots so her heatbeats get so fast by just standing
@JeannieDiBonHypermobility7 ай бұрын
Look at my live CCI class to get more info
@redo-lent39437 ай бұрын
@@JeannieDiBonHypermobility i sent her your video and unfortunately she said she tried them but they were too painful, she has a tethered cord could that be the reason? And is there any hope that she could heal from CCI without surgery?

How can you ensure you can get a specialist physio when accessing the NHS physio service?
@JeannieDiBonHypermobility7 ай бұрын
There are a number of EDS clinical specialists within NHS Trusts. Always ask for an EDS aware physio as our treatment needs to be adjusted.

@@JeannieDiBonHypermobility oh thanks. I didn't realise I could do that. I was just sent the appointment but wasn't told who it was with - turns out I'd just been passed to a new physio after my last one left.

I have an excellent physio who is prepared to adapt exercises for me. I have been with her for years now as she is private. We have a great relationship

Great to hear this! I'm curious : how did your therapist get prepared to adapt the exercises? Did she follow a specific course relating to EDS?
@JeannieDiBonHypermobility7 ай бұрын
That’s such good news.
@elm1627 ай бұрын
@@mariondorvalBodyvoiceFlow no she didn't do any specific courses, she listened to me and learnt what caused me flare-ups and then reduced reps. Modified the exercises and believes little and often is the key for me.
