I am new to paganism so I never heard of these declarations until today. While watching this I went and looked up both declarations 127, and deeds. I read them all the way through and I genuinely don’t understand how, it would be hard to not agree with them if you truly want to be apart of this community and many others who are against bigotry and discrimination of any kind. I was scared for years to get in contact with Pagans because of some bigots I happened to come across years back, when I first tried. Sadly, the bigots don't stand alone. There are very many of them. Even as I watch this video, the youtube algorithm is recommending a video by Survive the Jive. I think Pagans who abhor racism, bigotry, and discrimination should make that crystal clear, just in case there are new Pagans who have need for community, but are scared they might end up in a lions' den of bigotry, so they stay away.

I asked a UK based KZbin heathen trying to create a community if they supported this (I wanted to know before supporting them or not). They hadn't heard of it so checked and seemed enthusiastic. In the following weeks they shared posts in support of a known folkish bigot 🤦🏻‍♀️ another person who invited me to a heathen discord chat posted a rallying image in Instagram standing against racism in Heathenry - the also shared support of said folkish bigot... It's maddening!

I stepped away from the Hold and Aliakai’s server entirely because of some really tough questioning of my beliefs and needing time to gather my thoughts on my own (plus mental health issues and pushing away religious community tend to go together for me for no good reason). In my slow crawl back in the direction of Heathenry and Paganism in general, I can say that I kind of regret leaving because I would have loved to participate in this. This was beautifully done, and as much as people that are virtue signaling love to use this format, this didn’t come off that way to me at all. The words were strong, meaningful, and impactful, and the people actually sound like they mean it. It’s not the wishy-washy nonsense that you often hear from others that do this style of thing. Beautiful. Well done. I stand with y’all, at the very least, as an ally and maybe one day in the future as an actual fellow Heathen.

Wolf, i just have to say, maybe this does sound virtue signally to some people, as you said, but the fact is that despite the perpetual derision that such things get, virtue signalling has a purpose, to show that a place is a safe haven from the storm for when that safe haven is needed. The community here has consistently shown me that positive community is possible on the internet, and has helped to teach me how to better be an ally to heathens. Thank you for the work you do. So when I decided to switch from Wiccan to norse pagan I got alot of issues especially because I was in prison at the time and as I can say most of the dudes don't tolerate the racist crap there are some that are just horrible to be in the circle with but I was learning and those where my first blóts as a community I figures I could use the experience. After the second blót I learned to write my own though. And just do them in my cell. Now I'm out and and have been out for 2 plus years and do them in my back yard and I find myself gaining more and more connection with the gods. I'm so glad there something like this though that's awesome man

As a LEO, I've been worried about associating to this belief system specifically because I have seen pagans inside the prison system who were above and beyond in their racism. Great video with a great message. Its amazing to see so many come out in support against this cancer that tends to sprout up within our faith. Even while searching for a book Ocean recommended I was suggest a "similar" book by an author who has apparently voiced support for the afa. I support the declaration of deeds and declaration 127. But could not sign the declaration out of an "irrational" fear of being discriminator against. There is discrimination in the world and I do not want to be on the receiving end of it. I am in in the broom closet with my with my religious practices and I am uncomfortable announcing to world what I believe in. I feel such matters should be kept personal. I am a new solitary practitioner who is trying to figure things out. I hope I am not stirring up a hornets nest with this post. But I believe many people may feel the same way I do. You don't have to sign it. Just agreeing in conversation says a lot. But also you can sign it with an alias. Most every one uses a "heathen" name. I signed as Wolf The Red. Ocean signed as Ocean. Those that get mad that we ask if they agree aren't doing so out of fear of being discriminated against for being pagan. They are afraid of being outed as being ok with racists.

Like Wolf said, you don't have to physically sign it. I did sign Beofeld's Declaration of Deeds, but I don't have my signature on the 127 site. I do however say I support what it says and that's all people really care about! A new pagan who hasn't even heard of the documents but is willing to say "Hey, racism and prejudice really sucks and we shouldn't let it slide." is just as solid in my books as someone who signed them.

I as a univeralist also stand with Declaration 127 and Declaration of Deeds. This even means that I will not stand with some of my own faith. I grew up Southern Baptist but I have slowly gone towards an agnostic approach. I like Ocean and Red and then rest of their Hearth due to their openness yet steadfast dedication to protecting and harboring a wonderful community. In the future I wish you good luck and fortune.

I learned heathenry when I was in prison from 2006 to 2016, I despised those that justified the religion as a way to prove their racist ideoligies and always stood against them.
