Haven't played much yet, but they were surprisingly chill with me killing alfira and then not even bothering to hide it (I didn't hide it because my character has issues and needs the help, being as open as possible about it seems to be the best strategy to not lose control) Especially Astarion who is weirdly on board with such actions in general and a bit annoyed you're not into it yourself

Have you played the game? It makes it clear both Wyll and Karlach want nothing to do with the hells. Karlach was sold against her will by Gortash and forced to fight or die, and Wyll took a pact only to protect his home and the coast, and he was well aware he would regret it but had no choice.

Bhaal is one of the like top 5 evil gods and continuously tries to kill everyone. That’s all he does. And it’s been a while but iirc bhaalspawn are also in BG2 with Jahira, which is why she says she’s familiar with Bhaalspawn.

@@liviubostan7229 I would assume being the god of murder and blatantly 100% unapologetically evil is enough to be feared by almost all. Plus the gods ARE 100% real in this world, so I assume people learn about them early in life. As for the slayer form, might have been common knowledge but more urban legend since few ever see it and survive. And even if she didn't know what it looked like, knowing Durge is bhaalspawn and he turned into that, it's probably just deduction. I did notice some of the companions seem like they don't know what is is, so perhaps Karlach just realies him turning into some demonic form is just how far durge has fallen to Bhaal's power, which is why she says she hoped we were different?

They are all tangible cosmic forces in DnD, the Slayer probably reeks of evil and chaos so much that its vile nature is instantly clear to all those who behold it, even if their senses aren't trained to catch the smell, for it's incredibly intense. Also, Bhaalspawn have a history in the city of Baldur's Gate, especially with Jaheira's groups. Karlach is a big fan of hers, she grew hearing the stories of her brave exploits, which includes the nature of her foes, so she must have heard about the Slayer in bard tales or read about it in story books... She might have even heard about it in a temple, as a priest condemned the evils of the Dead Three. So there are two avenues to know what you have in front of you: the clear attack on your senses and old stories told many times.
