Hit the nail on the head in this review. Lack of multiplayer is terrible, I’m fine buying expansions later but can’t play against my buds for that nostalgic feel smh!. Still bought it to support the game in fear that company of heroes won’t make enough for Feral to even care about adding multiplayer. If they add multiplayer sales will sky rocket then that will for sure us the expansions. Company of heroes is my #2 game of all time, Dawn of war 2 is my #1, My hopes of iOS version is looking great!

Holyshit it is on iPad? Back in time when 2006, no average computer can run this game smoothly at high graphic. Bought a new PC and it still can't run at highest. But as a old veteran COH hardcore player, maybe not okay with iPad. We were too used to crazy mouse micro.

Yeah,m I know right. I don't think it's equivalent to full settings on a pc, but it can't be far off. I get that for sure - it can be tough using such a different control scheme. Its harder to do stuff quickly, 100%

Well, an RTS that was designed for touchscreen controls and not designed with lootboxes/randompacks for monetization would be nice. Thing is a mere port won't work, the game will likely have to be designed from the ground up. The former can be done but the latter oof, the mobile microtransactions market is just too lucrative for most developers and investors to look away.

Good review, an FYI for anyone though is you CAN buy the expansion packs for this game now. The two mentioned in this video. They are cheap too. And it has full multiplayer skirmish maps for free.

I had assumed they would be 7 Canadian as that's what the total war DLC are. I'll be picking this game up the moment it goes on sale and likely before if I have the free time to fill. The only reason I haven't yet is because I can't decide between this and total war! Appreciate the response!

Great review as usual I really don't understand why Feral doesn't include multiplayer for its Mobile ports. In Rome that would have been so cool, and it's unbelievable it's not in CoH. Feral is one of my favourite dev studio but they always had an issue with multiplayer, I mean even in Total War Mac ports it was basically non existent since not cross platform, and they even dropped it entirely with the 64bit updates which is really unfortunate There is no match for their ports though, Aspyr pales in comparison and I hope they port Medieval II Total War on IOS soon ;)

Great video as always! I was/am a big fan of CoH, but had no idea it was out on ipad. (not that I have an ipad anyway) Strange of them not to include the expansions. I don't know how the porting process works, but considering it seems to mostly just be a straight port from the pc version, I wouldn't think it would be that much more work to just include it.

You can already play all the classics using just the touchscreen, like Command and Conquer and Tiberian Sun and KKnD, and for free. Just use Exagear Strategies app (google its apk). The controls are even more intuitive than you can imagine.

Have you tried Grey Goo yet? A Good old school RTS game is like an oasis in the desert and players need help to find them in this vast wasteland. Had hoped Warcraft Reforged would bring them back like Street Fighter 4 did for fighting games. -_-

Grey Goo was also hyped like all the other new "saviours" like Dawn of War 3, Spellforce 3, Deserts of Kharak etc. All DISAPPOINTED. They are simplified shallow trash.Sometime I wonder if developers of these games haven even played real RTS like Supreme Commander, Total Annihilation or Starcraft (2). Most would be overwhelmed with Command and Conquer.

@@Zade_95 It works really well. I'm physically disabled and use a head-operated mouse. I use Apple's built-in "Assistive Touch” for gestures that require more than one finger. I can play this version better and more efficiently than the Mac version I played many years ago. Very entertaining!

No multiplayer is a big letdown, il stick to art of war 3 for now. Btw you should chek it out, its the best true rts game out there, with some unique ingame elements. although it has the loot boxes it doesnt hurt the core gameplay.

I suppose it’s a question of how powerful your tablet’s CPU and GPU are, relative to how much load the game puts on them. Newer iOS CPUs have some slow cores that use very little power, and a few fast cores that use a lot of battery. So the game will consume less battery on a more powerful device.
