I needed some dental work done and had it priced in America and they wanted like $7-$8K. I ended up going to this dental clinic in Bangkok and had it done for like $1500. I had to take a dental exam in America before deploying to Afghanistan and the dentist said I can see you just had some work done and whoever did it did a great job. I told him I had it done in Thailand for $1500 and he couldn’t believe it. I’ll definitely be visiting them in my next trip to Thailand this year.

That price to a Thai person who works locally is thousands of dollars. So to us foreigners, yes it’s “cheap” because you have US dollars but that is crazy expensive to a local Thai just like everything in Thailand. People there don’t even make that kind of money in a month.

It's all relative. With a local Thai office worker earning about $1,000 a month, the dental cost align with their cost of living.

I live in Bangkok 7 months a year and have had the same dentist there for 16 yr. Two things I like the most are that he does the cleaning himself and he is very gentle. In the USA I have had some dental hygienists who are a bit rough and create stress. One thing he does is put a cloth over my eyes and I find that relaxes me too. Dental procedures are very expensive in USA but I have found their diagnostic tools superior….i will sometimes wait till I am back in Bangkok to have work done because I am more comfortable with dentist there and can save some money too. One interesting thing I found is that the tooth numbering system is completely different

You picked the right clinic in Bangkok. I have been using them for about 5 years. My wife got upper and lower implants and is happy with them. This was when their main clinic was in Sukhumvit soi 5. My wife was the first Thai person they used in their implant promotional videos - they gave her a discount for making that video. They still play it in the waiting room when I am there! My wife is there again getting 2 additional implants right now. As for myself, I got all my uppers done with veneers, to lengthen my teeth and improve my smile. The dentist in USA said he would not do veneers for lengthening but when I enquired at Bangkok Smile, they said it was something they did. I am happy with the results too, it has really improved my smile.

@@theeschatechannel2854I went to Dente Dental located in the professional building at Centralworld Lad Phrao mall, 7th floor. My visit there on 2/18 was for phase one: Installation of the post. This involved 2 lidocaine injections to numb the area. Once numb, they cut the gum, drill a hole, and screw in the post. Finally, the post is capped off with a lid to prevent stuff getting inside. Finally, some stitches to close everything off. The whole procedure took 35 minutes from numbing to rinsing out my mouth. I was given some amox to prevent any bacterial infection, acetaminophen for mild pain, and Ponstan (mefenamic acid) for moderate pain. In ten days, I returned to get the stitches out. Then it's about 8 weeks to allow the bone to heal up around the post. The next day, I felt maybe slight discomfort but that's all. Everything seemed normal and painfree after the first day. I paid 25,000 baht for Phase 1 with another 25,000 baht due when I go back for the installing the tooth. My second tooth requires adding bone so it's about 10,000 baht more. I'll do that next year.

Did Invisalign 7 years ago. I don’t really recommend it as it was extremely annoying and it didn’t correct my teeth 100%. If I could do it again, I would just go braces as braces are more accurate. Also, your final tray works as a retainer so even though you Forrest have a one year treatment plan, you will have to wear your final tray for an additional year which is annoying as shit. Taking them off and on during meals is the biggest headache and cleaning them was annoying too. For me, my insurance paid 50% of the cost and the treatment (I got a deal) was 3,200 dollars and I paid half of that. The prices you mentioned are in line with US prices possibly even more. Take it from me folks, just go braces. Yes it sucks but you don’t have to take them out and clean them constantly and they will be more accurate when it’s all said and done.

I'm fortunate to have had "zero f*cks" early in life. In my early 30's I went to a nice high end restaurant solo, seated, ordered, bought nothing to read (pre-smartphones) and I just sat there self-conscious. Very hard to do. But learned the Earth kept spinning. Since then, don't really care what others think of my appearance. Hair disappeared, teeth are horrible. I stay fit but that's for health and I like being active. Dated a woman in LA and on the first date she asked why I didn't get my teeth fixed. Told her they work fine. We had a fun relationship for 3 months. When I broke it off she was upset and we talked for a bit and I was surprised when she said "It's because of what I said about your teeth, isn't it." I said "Nah" but yes it was mainly because of her comment. When she said it I knew she would not be a long term partner, so just stayed for the sex, which was great, until I was bored. I got the impression when she made the comment it was a sh*t test. I sh*t tested her right back and she failed. LA people apparently really are pretty shallow. Do you really want to end up with a person like that. Wouldn't you always be worried about your failing looks. I'd much rather be with a fun woman who liked sex and wore no or little makeup.

Thailand is okay for general dental, but if you are considering anything major DON’T DO It!!! The amount of people having very poor outcomes having implants, root canal procedures is frightening, once they take your money and you return home no dentist wants to touch work previously done in Thailand, what are you going to do? Travel back to Thailand every time you experience an issue.
@theauroralightyr9 ай бұрын
Is it based on fact or just your opinion? In Thailand, if you have a complex case, you can simply get it done by the professor in Dentistry school.
@OU-qe5pp9 ай бұрын
@@theauroralightyr It’s based on personal experiences, my wife had implants done in Phuket, typically the process for implants to be successful take three months for the implant to graft to the bone and would require multiple dentist visits to monitor the progress, it also takes time for the gums to recess before the final dentures can be moulded, that’s fine if you live in Thailand, but if we need to travel from Australia (air fare s, accommodation) it becomes very expensive. Also six months after the surgery one implant became loose and needed to be tightened but to our surprise the implant was not one of the typical brands and ended up being a nightmare, we ended up having to order the tool to tighten it. A process what should have taken half an hour took weeks.
@theauroralightyr9 ай бұрын
@@OU-qe5pp That is not a good experience. As patients, we often don't know the difference between typical brands and competitive brands that are much cheaper. For me a Swiss-made brand like Straumamn is the top choice for implant. Some dentists may offer cheaper brands, but it can be difficult for dentists in other countries to fix them.
