Hey Joe! I just came back into the hobby myself after 10 years being out. Used to love DOD and all your content so I’m happy to see you are back as well! You know, with your experience with so many motors (3W, DA, DLE, GP, etc) it would be nice if you made a video speaking on your experience with all brands and whether the price difference is worth considering. That would be a fun one. I myself have used DA, 3W, and TMM and were happy with all so I’d be interested in hearing what you have to say as well. Cheers!

I am 100% interested in a comparison by switching rings.

Yeah, I'm likely going to do that. :)

Are the needles set the same on both motors
@joehuntrc50278 ай бұрын
Here's the only thing scientific I can say, they both are running at the same needle settings now in terms of richness. Because they're both running different brand carburetors. But they're both set to be smoking a bit and running just a little bit rough from being rich. They both feel just the same in terms of power and tune. But the scientific take away is that when you do a normal setting up for Final Approach to land and a normal Landing the one I broke in richer will shoot with an infrared gun at 165° where is the one I broke in more it will land and shoot with the same gun at 195°. Now what they are at their Peak and various other times during flight I do not know. I may try to replace the rings on the one I broke in more leanly since the Pistons and cylinders look so perfect on it and try to break it again and see if it breaks in cooler. I might just sell it and get another new one and break it in Rich. Not sure yet.

Bowman rings i have heard are harder then the stock rings so it seems they would run hotter.
@joehuntrc5027Ай бұрын
@@markbowman2344 I've heard softer, but either way, these dle 170s have not let me down, they have been running strong for the last few months, since I installed them.
