What heads did you use on this motor. It would be nice if you would do a slide in the video of a spec sheet of the exact heads, intake, injector size, what rotating assembly ie exact brand and model of rods and pistons/crank this would be helpful. Also would you ever consider mating your engine combos to a real car or truck setup and maybe taking it to the track. Thanks for the videos and info. And remember add more Booostttt!

You have great informative videos, keep it up bro! But honestly a little confused, I see in several of your videos a NA Cam works just fine with a Blower/ Supercharger? Also, I know you like to do Cam tests. It would be good to see from you deferent companies with Stage 1,2 and 3 cams tested on the same Engine. I believe you’ll get a lot of views on those tests. Thanks For the good content

The original btr stage 3 pds cam. 660 dual springs with titanium retainers. If assume you'll need some sort of heat x changer. Pick up a cheap ice tank and pump with a plm zl1 intercooler.

I'm asking because I have a built aluminum block 5.3 gen4 rods and crank wiseco junkyard dog mini dome pistons and tfs genx205 heads zero decked block with comp of about 12.1:1 to 12.3:1 TVs cam 220/224 duration 575/575 lift 112+4 lsa Harland Sharp 1.7s and lsxrt lightly ported and port matched to heads for 445hp at the wheels on e85. Yes I have supporting mods fuel system stage 3 4l70e performa built trans moser custom 12 bolt and more. I'm looking at procharging this with no more than about 10lbs of boost. Looking for around 700whp I know I will need to pull plenty of timing but I do want to stay with e85

So, this camshaft is intended for use with a centrifugal supercharger. What if I want to use a twin screw one? Would the same cams work for that?
@robertbailey3057 Жыл бұрын
The most important thing when choosing a supercharged cam is overlap. Don't really want much or any overlap.

I’m curious as to why such a low LSA? It seems a lot of high HP builds tend to go higher to reduce overlap, like 119-122 LSA It would be cool to see the effects a cam with the same lift and duration just different LSA to see how it affects it
@Compcams19764 жыл бұрын
One concern with higher LSA's is cylinder pressure, especially on a stock bottom end build. Generally about a 115 LSA is all you need unless you're going for crazy numbers. A lower LSA also allows for more duration. It's all a balance, and it really depends on what kind of powerband you're looking for and what your goals are!
@loudexploder22084 жыл бұрын
I'm no cam expert but pretty sure a lower LSA has more dynamic compression not a higher LSA.

Richard.....i hate to send this message. Im sure the guys at Comp required you to do this, however, i gotta call bulmshit on a few things: *You & I both know that wasnt a stock bore/ stroke size engine. I believe you even said it was a 383 on a different video. * For the person who has everyone claiming " every cam is a boost cam.'. To then come on this sponsored video, and COMPLETELY contradict yourself. On this video you claimed that the comp cam being marketed was a cam actually made for boost. BTW there ARE cams better suited for boost. The definition of overlap alone kills your little quote. *Heads?Blower? Two of the most significant determining factors of how to reach that supposed 1000hp would be your cylinder heads, and which blower was even used. Man, its almost like this video was constructed to really highlight one specific part by one specidic company. I hate to say it,but, if the test motor was actually a 5.3(which it wasnt) that motor would have had only one choice of cylinder head type, and thats a cathedral port head. Therefore, the duration split on said cam is to large in the first place. You ran a similar test for a centrifugally blown 5.3. however.....on that test you admitted to stroking the motor, and the cam you used was a 231/239. Guess its ok to fudge things when the big companies got their hand up your ass using you for a puppet. If you were willing to do this...what other bullshit have you fed us? Its sad bc a lot of people look to you for what has always appeared to be unbiased information.
@CosmosMBTS5 жыл бұрын
For it to be a cam test, the cams needed to be installed after the supercharger base run.... This test shows what 21.5psi of boost does with the engine set up before boost. Better luck next time.
