She was the fresh-faced "It Girl" of Swinging Sixties London who had it all - fame, glamour, hit records, famous boyfriends. But Marianne Faithfull's angelic rise concealed private demons that would nearly destroy her. This video tells the gripping story of how Faithfull journeyed from teen pop sensation to a heroin-addicted outcast before rising from the ashes as one of music's greatest survivors.

Join us as we profile the dramatic life of a complex artist who inspired classic songs by the Rolling Stones, reinvented herself as a cutting-edge singer-songwriter, and now at 77, faces potential retirement from the lingering effects of COVID-19. Through archival footage and interviews, we'll transport you back to Faithfull's meteoric launch as a folk-pop ingenue with hits like "As Tears Go By." We'll delve into her role as muse and confidante to Mick Jagger and the Stones circle when she struggled to be regarded as more than a prized possession.
The video will also candidly explore Faithfull's harrowing descent into addiction and homelessness throughout the 1970s that nearly destroyed her. From squats in Soho to disastrous comeback attempts, her shocking fall from grace revealed the precarious darkness lurking behind her image. Most astonishing is how Faithfull defiantly rose from the ashes, reinventing herself as a punk-influenced singer with a raw, whiskey-soaked voice on her 1979 masterpiece Broken English.
Through the following decades, Faithfull continually took bold creative risks, from jazz reinventions to cutting-edge collaborations. Her battle with cancer and frank discussions of aging display grit and humor. Now as the ravages of Covid may end her recording career, this indefatigable survivor contemplates her legacy. Marianne Faithfull's extraordinary journey from angelic muse to avant-garde icon defines what it means to endure. Learn her inspiring story only in this video.

She may be fading, but she still has one more voice to share: if the ''Ballad of Lucy Jordon'' somehow mirrors the life of Marianne, then the youth of today could learn from that experience. It is never too late to feel the warm wind in your hair. You may go off the rails, but you are an extraordinary being in a chaotic world.

One of my favourite singer’s. The ballad of Lucy Jordan is her best. I admire her determination, a quality inherited from her noble ancestry.

I love her. she is so strong! I was so worried when she had covid. It's a sorry thing that it robbed her of her voice. I was so relieved when she escaped with her life!

Vinyl is still big and now would be a good time for her to have it all pressed and re issued!! All of her stuff specially, “It’s all over now, Baby Blue…” We are in a time where music like this will resonate with everyone…

I think it is okay to retire from singing at 77. All right, her ex Mick is still singing at 80, but he is in a known group.

This is one poorly produced video bio on her. The narration could have been much shorter and more efficent instead of repeating things like " the Stones inner circle" blah blah blah. Respect the artist ! She lived a life few can imagine or endure, going from high to low to high to low and now survives still to give us more song and art.

Sister Morphine is not about her battle with addiction. As she has stated it is about a man lying in the hospital and dying after a car accident. This video is sloppy and rife with inaccuracies! Absolute rubbish!

I always downvote stuff that are not what the video title say. This should have been something like "a life history of Marianne Faithful", not a title about her singing again.

She had a beautiful face and voice when she was young. The voice changed to a raspy unpleasant sound. Her face and voice are the most disappointing changes in human history.
