I built my dnd version of Pennywise as a damphir whispers bard/undead warlock. No need to have a high dex for the blades, as the bite attack counts as a simple weapon. By using thematic spell selections, it came out better than anything else I tried. The huge bite attack re-flavored from the damphir bite attack. Plus it makes having a high con score a solid addition to the build. Love your content!

I actually created a bard subclass which is focused on ranged damage dealing massive amounts of thunder and lightning damage to enemies whilst jamming out on an instrument the entire time.

I believe it's a way to avoid torture that some players often try to gather information with. instead if you have a tied up creature the bard can make them terrified of an a PC, when that PC enters the bard can gather information easily without laying a finger on them. I dislike when players decide to torture an NPC, that is why I always have zone of truth in my spell list when joining a new group. but a whispers bard with the tongues spell can gather information from anyone without torture. I like it.

So, it is important to mention that any character can try to replicate the voice of another its just a skill check. Something like the actor feat just makes it easier to do.

A "common wisdom" regarding Rogues, is that MCing into something else has a high opportunity cost, due to interrupting SA progression. This is one case where that's not completely true, and thematically feels very strong. I think 6 Whispers, then either 7 or 9 Rogue depending on subclass, then whatever you want.

If multiclassing is the goal than hex blade is the way to go, getting the curse to add a bit of extra damage and using your charisma as your attack mod makes sure you don't have to worry about how to split your asi as much. Plus if you lvl enough to get branding smite get some extra radiant damage in

Also, Whispers Bard with Mastermind Rogue will give you the voice mimicry needed to avoid the Actor feat.

You could also go kenku from the Monster Manuel and get mimicry built into your character from the get go

Or take changeling as your race as they can copy voices they have heard just once when they assume personas or masks. Plus, changeling whispers bards are just a deadly thematic combo, rich with mechanics and flavor.

All I'm going to say is whisper bard. Comboed with psyknife rogue. Working out the details but im thinking low rogue high bard. Pluck out the best parts of both. To build "like a single class" build.

Great video! I would definitely rule the class features same as you, you're supposed to sound like the person. I would frame the challenge around stretching the limits of your knowledge to be in character, but definitely leave a lot of room for players to succeed.

For the type of person a College of whispers bard would be, they'd horde all Inspiration dice! Psychic blade can so some damage. I'd pick a lot of Spells like sleep, Charm, fear, Crown of madness, Dominate, etc. Otherwise disonant whisper is a must. The RP abilities witg the actor fear and your a powerful band at impersonating! Forces you to venture creative in combat. If you pair off with an Arcane trickster Rogue and the two can come up with a common spy/criminal story, and you're a powerfully combo with interesting campaign RP. For instance the Whispers bard and Rogue know each other and may not fully trust the rest of the party to some covert stuff they're up to...

You could drop some levels into hexblade warlock with pact of the blade to use your charisma modifier with a bow.

I think that with this subclass could be a nice idea to keep an hand crossbow as side arm and use it when you would have advantage on the attack roll, instead of casting vicious mockery, this because in that circumstance my probability to hit will be increased a lot and even the chance to crit! I think that this is the best use of psychic blade, a really powerful "smite" to use when you are more confident to hit or crit spending a bardic inspiration instead of a spell's slot.
