Complete Guide to Island Sanctuary in FFXIV

In this video, I will go over everything you need to know about Island Sanctuary. We'll go over the workshop, farming the cropland, tending to animals as well as some gathering tips that even players some way into the Island Sanctuary experience may not know about!

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR THE WORKSHOP: I STRONGLY recommend using ffxivteamcraft.com/ instead now - there is a workshop tab on the left side. Here you can press "Import state from database" on the top right side, which will automatically load current supply/demand and tell you exactly what to craft in a much more convenient way!

for those who've yet to set foot on the sanctuary, it might be fair to inform them that mounted flight is not possible until the sanctuary achieves rank 10 and the pathfinder mk V quest is completed.

One thing I would add is that having your animals cared for will lock you out of releasing them. Also while I wouldn't necessarily recommend using the service for the pasture. It is totally worth it for the croplands, because not only do they collect the plants and water, but they also replant the crops in the same amounts so you don't even need to think about it.

I originally made a video that took about 20 hours to make on Island Sanctuary, but my editing software crashed which ended up corrupting the save file. I couldn't bring myself to make another video of that scope but still wanted to release something on Island Sanctuary due to the many requests for it. So here's me rambling for 24 minutes with some light editing. Hope it's still helpful! Edit: IMPORTANT NOTE: Because a lot of people are using the spreadsheet, the most efficient items to produce might change later into the week because of overflowing supply. I recommend setting up your first two days for stacking Groove and then deciding on what to do on the last three days if you want to get as many cowries as possible. If you don't care too much, you'll still get plenty of cowries by setting it up once a week though.

Maybe I missed it in the video (apologies if so) but in the Workshop, it's much easier to sort by Category in the drop down when picking what to make! Instead of reading each item, you group them by Category then just check which ones you have the mats for :) Your videos are great, thank you so much!!

One thing to note about watering.... Rain on the island will water your crops, so if it rains while you're gathering or hunting rare creatures, that covers you for the day. As for the Duty Action, as someone that uses mouse to move and keyboard for the actions, I'd learned when doing a certain post Stormblood solo duty that I could bind the Duty Action to a key :D I found that G was available (from default settings). It's right next to where your hand would rest for using keyboard for movement (WASD), so it's easy to reach from that position. (I use CTRL-G for duty action 2, which I haven't seen in a duty that I remember, but has come in handy on the island and is also unused by default)

There's a sweet spot on top of the mountain. It has 11 nodes so you can harvest stone, quartz, iron ore, and leucogranite on loop! (have to unlock flight by getting to level 10)

Very good guide. I always forget which animals I had fed. I noticed on pc that if your are feeding them and forget if you fed one or not is that the name of the animal will disappear when fed. As long as you do not change the mode. If you change to pet or anything the names will reset.

heya i have a question, currently in the doc's solver there's no more "groove mover", where am i supposed to look for this? i'm sorry if it's such a basic question but the doc for me is information overload

Looks like they are currently working on it to make it better. For the groove movers, I would simply recommend to go with anything that looks alright depending on the demand & supply tab (look for high popularity primarily). Don't worry too much about optimizing that too hard beyond getting your groove going. I think it's probably not worth the headache. They likely have some big plans due to how popular the spreadsheet is.

In terms of tedium, I very much encourage paying the mammets to take care of the crops. It's a little too tedious to bother with when having to work the menu to go between planting the seeds, choosing the seeds, and watering multiple plots over a large space of travel. Plus, unlike the animals, it's only 5 seafarers per plot. 20 plots at half the cost that it takes to care for 20 animals.

I have been using ninja invisability ability to catch all animals with 100% catch rate. Sometimes you need use more than 1 catcher, but the animal can never see you and the invisability doesnt drop after using the catchers. Dunno if bug or intentional, hope this helps :)

Hmm...interesting. Gonna try this later. I initially experimented with approaching animals while walking and in a way where they won't see me but of course invisibility could work!

@Alexis Webb Hmmm i dunno why. ive literally caught every animal. Even literally waited for twinkle fleece to pop for the ultimate tester lol and i caught it no problem after 10 nets. Used invisibility approaced from behind and used the net from max distance. Maybe if player and animal hitboxs touch it voids the invisability. Hope this helps

Just an FYI, this video might be a waste of your time. If you're new to Island Sanctuary, some of what he has to say here might be helpful, but disregard anything he has to say about the Work Shop Solver. If you're not new, much of what he has to say, is common knowledge that most other videos have told you. The big thing that made his video stand out from others was the Work Shop Solver, which he has replaced with a link to Team Craft. Team Craft seems to be pretty fussy to try and make work, and isn't in anyway as simple as he makes it sound. It does have an animal timer that will count down to their next appearance, and give you the locations, times, and conditions for rare animals. So. at least there's that.

I thought that Island Sanctuary may go in that direction at first too, but honestly after playing through it all that doesn't seem the be the case at all. I finished everything in about 2 weeks, the game practically throws XP at you. It's really not comparable to mobile games
