Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

If you could do a back to basic with recipe day for bath bombs that would be absolutely fantastic but I do understand that you are very busy with Disney around the corner for you and your family. You guys will love it! I grew up down in southern California in Pasadena and went so often that I took it for granted. Wish I could go with you guys! Have fun and thank you for sharing all the wonderful recipes that you so don't have to share, but do! You make my day and I love your chatter.

MAN!! If you were around 20 years ago, I would have been a soapmaking Goddess by now! I wanted to make soap way back in the day but every single bit of information available made it seem scary as heck! To this day, I have not made a single bar of soap no matter how much I have desired this skill! You have single-handedly made me feel so capable of accomplishing this goal because you aren't trying to scare the heck outta me! You just explain things in a very matter of fact, use your darn head kinda way that I can appreciate!! I WILL be making soap in the very near future and I have YOU to thank for that!! You. Are. Awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in such an entertaining and attainable way!

Mrs. S&C is the one that gave me the confidence to make CP soap. Like you, most people made it seem very intimidating. Especially the perfectionists. You can have beautiful, functional soaps without being absolutely perfect.

We twenty-years-into-it “goddesses” still need this common-sense advice😁. It is still easy to get sucked into the “oh look what I can do” soaping culture that is out there. I once made a full-out soap cake 2 full layers frosted, piped, etc. (It was magnificent if I do say so myself). How well did it sell? It basically didn’t. It was, as Mrs Soap & Clay said “Unapproachable.” I still have pictures somewhere, though!😂. It still makes me feel like a rock star when I look at those pics.😁

I would love to see an in depth rebatch soap. I've been looking around but all I see is a fairly quick "here's how you do it." I want to understand it better than what I've found! You are amazing! Keep it up!

Great little video on the basic pours! I still love doing these pours! They are fun to do and they don't take a lot of time nor do you dirty 7 bowls to get a nice soap.

Love this series. I’d like to know more about botanicals - will some mold? Will they all mold? Can they only be used as decorations on top? Some in the lye solution, some in the batter? Only oil infused and strained. Lots of questions and people seem to disagree on these.
