Tgis is build to help with the epa not us. because coyotes can make power and its upgraded variant like the voodoo from the gt350 made 520hp with a single air intake and throttle body. so yeah because they already screw you on ported throttle bodies and CAI costing 1000 bucks for 10hp not seen on the dyno now they get to charge double lol oh and the fact that over the air updates will make this car if ever made tuneable it will allow the factory to revert it back to factory after you pay the money for the tune and blow your car up after mods. SUPPOSEDLY whuch is ford known there is a extra hiney comb filte r in the double setup that even if thats removed or air intakes are opened more like diesek trucks this will be epa friendly stuff and if you play with it. it wont run. They already dis this with the 21+ f150s that can be tuned unless you buy a whipple with their pretune but so dar no tuning for turbos or other mods so they leave us like they left they c8. Buy it how it is and the hobby of building our musclecars is officially gone. M7stang is the last one. Camaro challenger and charger are all gone tge 3 Cs should be 4 because now the tune and buildability is gone so the cars i grew up building and loving with family in our driveways and garages are gone!!

Part of this motor was developed in the late nineties early 2000. 2001 3 prototype FR500 were made, Black, white and silver .400 hp 5.0 Dual throttle bodies and dual mas air. I drove the black one around the 3.7 mile Sebring road course it had independent rear suspension and the front suspension was moved forward approximately 4". It had Full racing slicks. That is one day I will never forget, thank you Ford Racing.!

i think its funny how excited people get over 525hp. My 2008 GT500 with only a pulley, tune, intake and catback puts down 550hp/560tq DYNO to the rear. I can spend another $2k (or less) and get a TVS supercharger with BAP to get to the over 650hp that the 2013-2014 GT500 came stock with. Or I could go wild and spend $7k for a different supercharger and then I would be maxing out the rods. The fun part is I spent $28k for a mint car with under 30k miles and looks in my opinion much more badass than the new Ford Camaro :)

The dark horse makes 20 more crank hp than the mach1 (equivalent to a cold air intake and a tune on the gen 3) and it has a new manifold, twin throttle bodies and different internals which isn't super impressive imo. The current coyote makes around 500whp with intake exhaust e85 and a tune. My 6th gen camaro is at 570whp with the same + heads/cam

Why spend (expecting it to be $60k+) for a car like the Dark Horse? If I am spending $60k, its going to be something like a new C8 or some other power plus handling car. I had a S550 GT PP1 car before the GT500 and I admit they are a decent all around car, but they are a bit boring stock. The GT500 made me fear for my life when I first drove it. :) Again it was already modded so I know its not completely fair and you can mod an S550, but at what cost?

Dual intakes look cool but a single 80mm tb would be more than enough for ~500hp and a 5L engine. Dual 80mm just seems like a flex. I run a single 87mm on my turbo coyote race car and it's not even close to being a restriction.

I think it's established w the GT350R, GT500 if you make the right car mustang enthusiasts will pay for the premium brand. I love the exterior and everything else about the car - just wish the engine was more special for a new brand release.

No mention of any changes to the oil pump? The 5.0L in the F-150 already switched to a belt driven oil pump in 2021. The truck engine has also been using both port and direct injection along with a 12:1 compression ratio since 2018. Why is the Mustang 5.0L not getting these changes?

Cool but Mustang wasn't first with that but really cool the adopted a very researched strategy GM had studied and perfected in secret for many years. The GM's LT6 Is 8900 RPM 670 HP Naturally Aspirated utilizes a duel intake and bodies with constant variations to accomidate max torque on bottom and max HP on high RPM dodge is behind on this refinement at the moment.

It's always weird when you have a division boss trying to explain engineering aspects of a new product revision that he doesn't fully understand. Why not get the engineers on camera? I'd love to hear how they chose to utilize dual throttle bodies because they allow dramatic increases in air flow while maintaining a smooth and tunable throttle tip-in. And perhaps, how adding the control for dual throttle bodies allows the future use of a dual plenum helmholtz manifold, a la Ferrari and Corvette Z06.

This kind of sucks I have a 2018 S550 GT and the driver side header is built into the catalytic converter as one long pipe it doesn't separate like the passenger side or as you can see the new 650 i. That's a problem for me because I recently brought some cat less downpipes, and the driver side flaw forces me to go to a muffler shop instead of stalling them in my driveway.

Ford is doing a great job coming out with the new 2024 mustangs! At a adorable price BUT the dealerships are marking them 30K+ base price. I would call and talk to your local dealership what they are listing them. Depending on the allocations it might be 30K mark up. I watched a video of a guy going to a dealership he had been doing business with for 12 years to place an order for that new Dodge Demon 170. 1025HP with over 920FT. They told him they are marking them an additional 50K! I don’t really knock other muscle cars. I like them all but I am a true Mustang fan. I will order the Dark Horse if the sales person holds to his word. Yes I know how they are. I will request a written letter with the price and signed by a manager that they will hold that price. I called and spoke to someone at Ford to talk to them about it and they said it’s not illegal to do because they are all privately owned but I can request the signed letter of price. If they can’t follow it then I will be happy ordering a decked out GT Premium!

Considering 3rd gen made 460 hp with a single throttle body and intake and this 4th gen have dual throttle bodies with a combine 160mm and dual intakes I'd say easily 520hp

Possible, but the engine only needs X amount of air. With the stock heads/cams/compression/intake cross section & runner length Ford could put 50 throttle bodies on it and it eventual reach the point where it no longer gains power. Dual TB/intake probably increased power peak power but I bet throttle response it really where it makes a difference. Drive an old GT500 with stock TB then a big 140mm oval. Way more responsive at part throttle with tue big TB

@@BC08 yes but even with a cold air intake a 3rd gen picks up 10 hp so the dual intales will gain 10hp or more on its own and the Intake manifold is redesigned to allow the more air flow from the twin throttle body's

I didn't like the way the Dark Horse pitched when it came to a stop, at ~7:39. Though there probably is a setting to stiffen up the dampers. I'd just have to select it on every drive.

Does the base GT get forged oil pump gears? Or is this just a Dark Horse upgrade? Or is just for the Dark Horse R and S non streetable versions?

So we mentioned the 2.3L turbo and the Gen 4 coyote. But is there going to be an option for the 3.7 L V6? Or is that motor going to be completely gone for the S650 chassis?

Hoping for 100hp per liter would make for a solid 5.0L knowing all liters are fully in the game for 500hp total.

I love it but it’s all technology and I think they did it on purpose. It’s definitely something to be excited about. But my 2011 Infinty g37 has dual intakes and out the power down nicely for a V6 very funny car. I’ve got a fully built 5.0 and looking for boost soon. I can’t imagine just already having 500 HP available!!

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, McClaren, Porsche...lots of exotics have been doing this for decades. It's nice to see an American muscle car transform into the number 1 selling sports car. I just wished they would find a way to drop some weight on it. Maybe even make it a little smaller. It's the same size as most 4 door sedans.
