I gotta share, at 3:13 there's a "more optimal" thing that was missed. If you grab onto the sphinx and crawl to the nap of her neck as she flys away to her next spot there's a spot you can just stand thanks to the posture of the sphinx as it flys. I thought I was clever but the sphinx said "not bad" after I got situated. Games alive man.

As it turns out, you don't even need to use the flask for any NPC, you can just pick them up and use a ferrystone if you have a port crystal where the Sphinx is.

literally all of the mtx are things you can acquire in game, pretty easily, too. I never defend mtx and I'm not defending them now, but for god sake this is probably one of the least egregious cases of mtx use I've seen in a modern AAA game. I'd prefer if they weren't there, but honestly I don't particularly care much that they are. I'd bet a lot of the same people complaining about it are probably buying every CoD and Assassin's Creed game every year with no sense of self-awareness. The focus of the criticisms against DD2 should be about the horrid optimization and major performance problems. Talking about these very unobtrusive mtx that the game doesn't pressure you at all to buy like it's the worst thing about it is so stupid. And it diverts attention away from the *actual* problem with the game.

I gave the Sphinx my main pawn as my most beloved and she opened the chest, even though I did the full romance quest thing with Ulrika. I didn’t even think of Ulrika at the time because my main pawn truly is my most beloved. The Sphinx said “not bad, but you bring only one? I thought you better” then when on to say “a promise is a promise”, and opened the second chest. It’s wild seeing this video now after finishing the Sphinx quest and seeing how much different you went about it.

Another tip, for the duplicate one, use a port crystal so you get one for free, then place one at the sphinx first location, when she flies off just grab onto her, place the second port crystal where she lands, and just teleport back to grab the 3 ferrystones from the 5th chest and pick the port crystal back up, and you can teleport back to her, yes it will use 2 crystals doing it this way but its still one for free, so saves 10k gold, or you just come back later to grab them and that way you get 2 free

You can grab people and use a ferry stone to transport them, so if you have a port crystal set it at the second location and just grab the people and use a ferry stone, no need for sealing phial.

riddle of madness: when she asks to see your beloved, you can grab your pawn and put it on the platform. based on what she says when you do this i assume you can place all 3 pawns in your party on that platform and she'll still accept your answer, but i haven't tested that. riddle of wisdom: SphinxParent was impossible to find for me until i turned off network features in the settings, then i found one instantly. i love her, she's such a troll. assuming you do her riddles in order from top to bottom, you pretty much always have what you need to solve the next one really easily (you get a portcrystal right before the riddle where she asks you to give up/duplicate an item iirc). some of her riddles really do make you feel stupid for not realizing there was a much easier solution the whole time hidden between the lines (and some of them are pretty dumb themselves, like the seeker's token one or the parent one) never knew you could kill her like that, i figured you had to use an unmaking arrow since she gives you one earlier on

One thing to keep in mind about the finder’s token. It’s the first place you found a token in your current playthrough. My first playthrough, I deliberately waited until i was in Vermont where there were some easy tokens to find and remember. My second playthrough, it was a token in the cave coming up to the checkpoint rest stop where there are Saurians. For my second playthrough, the finder’s token was in the cave, not Vermont

Use the online interactive map,it has the location of every single seeker token,all you gotta do is go back to the place you crash landed with the griffin and check all locations from there and try to remember if you went straight through the main quest route or if you wandered off in some direction,if anything youll end up finding tokens you missed which can help you get the guild rewards,eventually youll find the one the sphinx is asking for,personally it took me less than 10 minutes to find mine,and found 3 new ones.

Some points really quick...make sure you have a wakestone and a telle in inventory. I just killed Virgil, and used a telle to the shrine. Then laid his body in front of sphinx and revived him. Then talked to sphinx. So, you don't have to carry him all the way there

If you know what you're doing or are in NG+ you can knock these riddles out in under 20 minutes. And you get about 100k Gold, a surplus of 1 Ferrystone, a Portcrystal, the Sealing Phial, a Wakestone, 1200 Rift Crystals, Ring of Ambition (boosts EXP gain), a Trickster Weapon, The Eternal Bond Ring (maxes out affection when gifted) and the Unmaking Arrow and the Eternal Wakestone as a final reward. Which, unlike his name's implication, is a one time use item to revive NPC in a huge radius. You get a prompt saying how many will be revived before confirming. It can be consumed to revive a whole town.

Thanks for the detailed guide! The trophy pops after you did the vase delivery quest. So at the final part where you fight her, I tried attacking the parts shown on the vase but only managed to damage some parts and she's down to her last hp. I was level 33 when I did the quest and I didn't even legitimately unlocked Battahl but I managed to tear her hp down fast I guess? When she was about to leave, I just equipped the Unmaking Arrow then shot her. She dropped her key and that allowed me to open the last chest.

For the npcs parts, a good tip to save time. You can carry an npc and use a port crystal waly carrying them to tp to the location of a port. Once you tp you'll still be holding an npc. This works with any npc. I wanted to throw an npc into the magma section near the end of game, so I grabbed a random npc from vernworth, tp and chucked them into the magma. Then revived them and they were all so grateful. Don't waste the sealing phial

This drama is actually quite interesting. My guess judging by the way things have turned out, the mtx probably blindsided a lot of creators/reviewers. And I also think that the devs are probably not in on it since there is a meme of the director saying he doesn't like fast travel in games to now them being a mtx. This really doesn't matter much because the result is the same. Hopefully this gets walked back... but it's a big reminder of the state the gaming industry is in or at the very least capcom is in.

What I mean is, because of the micro transactions (and the other issues that compounded it), it is now starting at a disadvantage PR wise. Only things that can turn that around are good decisions or time. If time solves the issue for them, then that mean that DD will always remain a niche RPG that never really gets popular or mainstream attention except for this one fumble.

This quest seems like a massive pain in the arse, back tracking constantly. How the hell are you meant to get your character with affinity there if there is no quest to go on with them, carry them the whole way?? You can just use your Main Pawn. That Riddle incidentally rewards you with a Port Crystal which you can place there and the use "grabbing NPC with R2 and activating a Ferrystone"-trick. There is no backtracking involved, you only need 2 Ferrystones. The Seekers Token Riddle even gives you 3 Ferrystones. Also you can the Sphinx as a taxi to take you to the second location. This guide seems rushed to farm release day views. It recommends some suboptimal things. Who knows there might even be easier ways discovered in the future.

I understand early reviewers were kept in the dark about microtransactions, but I think it falls on you and other reviewers (as the loudest voices in the community at this moment) to warn others away from Capcom's predatory monetization while we the players resist the urge to buy the game until Capcom comes to their senses. I understand it's a long shot and the odds of it having any great impact are miniscule, but it is still more critical than releasing new guides on the game. Beyond affecting great change in the industry, it is detrimental to your viewers' trust in you as a KZbinr to be transparent (unlike Capcom). You're not a clip-pumping machine. I get it. But for what it's worth, you might want to delay whatever next clip you're planning in favor of a 3-5 minute video that speaks out against this BS. Keep up the good work!

The fast travel is not locked behind a paywall, what it actually is that there are ten Portcrystals (fast travel markers you have to manually set) in the game, the MTX just gives you one slightly earlier than if you played the game, also if you find all ten then you can't buy the MTX Portcrystal. The game has not locked the ability to respec your character, there is no way to respec, and there isn't a need to either, as technically speaking, starting a new Vocation basically does that for you. You might be getting that confused with the option to change your character's appearance, which can be done in game without spending real life money but is also available in MTX form for slightly earlier than if you just played the game. Literally every MTX in the game can be obtained with very minimal effort in game, and they can only be bought once.
